The Albi race track is located in the south of France near the town of the same name. It is 2.2 miles long (3.6 km) long in its current configuration (the layout has changed dramatically since its beginnings), and it is a track with great historical value. It was born out of the wishes of motorcyclists in the mid 1920s, and held its first “Grand Prix” in 1932, and since then it has held races in everything from karting to Formula Two; in the 1960s many Formula One drivers were doing double duty with F2 and Albi has had such notable winners as Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Jackie Stewart, and Didier Pironi amongst others.
