The Le Mans Bugatti circuit was initially intended to offer an alternative venue for the French Grand Prix. Unfortunately the circuit was widely disliked among the drivers and only ever held one Grand Prix -in 1967- won by Jack Brabham in the car bearing his name. The circuit continues to host various club and national level events as well as the French Motorcycle Grand Prix, The 24 hours of Le Mans motorcycle race and has even hosted a round of the DTM touring car series.
Highlights of the circuit include Turn 1 which passes underneath the famous Dunlop bridge and leads towards the lap's best overtaking opportunity at La Chapelle.
