Porsche GT2
Like all great Porsche race cars, this was designed to be sold as customer cars by Porsche to take on the Viper GTS-R in various sports car championships in the late 90's. The legendary 993 is the last of the air-cooled 911s, and still considered by most Porsche enthusiasts as the most beautiful 911 ever built. The GT2 had the 3.6litre turbo flat 6 from the production Turbo, but was converted to RWD instead of the AWD in the street car. It could top out at close to 190mph, which in 1995 was quite spectacular.
By 2003/2004, the 993 GT2 was pretty much a moving chicane in GT1. With the classic engine hanging out over the rear axle, the 993 was not an easy ride to handle. Acceleration was great, due to all that power sitting on the rear wheels. But the 993 chassis had classic snap oversteer on corner entry/throttle liftoff, and heavy power understeer on corner exit. It abused the tires no matter what you were doing with the car, and required a patient driver with lots of bravery to make it go quick. Anyone who decides to take this beast out on track deserves some praise simply for his sheer bravery. - Jerry Chen, Enis Dauti
