Maserati MC12
Based on the Enzo platform, the MC12 was a purpose built race car designed to conquer the FIA sports car championship. With a wide aerodynamic body, screaming V12 engine, it has an unmistakable look as it screams down the front straight. The wheelbase has been extended from the Enzo, as well as an additional 11.5 inches added to the nose and tail to improve the aerodynamics. Straight out of the box, the MC12 was fast and competitive. Maserati fielded two MC12s in the last four races of the 2004 FIA GT season, taking two wins, three seconds, and one third-place finish, putting the field on notice for 2005.
The steering feels precise and easy, turn in is almost point and shoot like simple. Feed the power in smoothly and you are rewarded with a sexy growl from the engine as it winds up to redline. Mid engined layout means it has good balance and handles much like you would expect. Big wide tires and flying wedge shape keep it glued to the ground on high speed turns, and good brakes help stop it without drama. Expect to see it out front with consistency. - Jerry Chen, Enis Dauti
