Corvette C5-R
Fitted with the now infamous LS1-V8, the Corvette became a staple of automotive dominance both in the US and Europe. With multiple wins, drivers and manufacturer championships in both ALMS and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Corvette C5R proved that American automotive engineering can still produce amazing feats when it has the resources and desire. While the C5R dominated races across the globe, the variations seen in the 2003 and 2004 FIA GT series were privateer entries, and lacked some of the reliability and performance capabilities of the factory sponsored cars. However, the Corvette was still an excellent, well balanced car, and offered its driver no surprises in any condition.
Slightly slower than the other GT1 cars in terms of top speed, the C5R makes up for it in handling. Very well balanced, and easy to drive, the Corvette will respond to the driver in any conditions and doesn't oversteer or understeer with any extreme tendencies. Tire wear is average, but the V8 does drink fuel at quite a high rate. - Jerry Chen, Enis Dauti
