Corvette '76

The C3 "Mako Shark" Corvettes went through several variations and configurations from 69 through the early 80's. The #850 car is the late model 1974 version, and contained a 350 small block V8, that pumped out 450bhp. Although heavy, the car had good 50/50 weight distribution, and independent rear suspension. With only a 4 speed gearbox, try to keep the car in its power band, and don't be afraid to 4 wheel drift it through sweeping corners. Its weakness is its weight and lack of braking, so don't overdue the dive bombs, because you won't be out brake anyone in this car. The #85 1969 version sports a 427 cubic inch big block Chevy V8, spitting out 575 fire breathing horses. Gobs of torque are not hard to find when driving this beast, but are required to muscle the car with the most weight and highest center of gravity in the group. Equipped with wider rear tires than its small block sibling, the 69 Vette needs to be driven with more caution. Try to coast through the turns, grab a tight apex, and setup the car for a good launch on exit. With so much weight and power, conserving the tyres and brakes are a must. With a little self control, you can save enough tyres and brakes to beat any car in this class. - Jerry Chen
