Classic American muscle. Known internally (and to fans) at GM as the C2, the 1963-67 Sting Ray Corvettes still prove to be a popular car. Through out the 60's it came in various configurations and engines. The models featured in the FIA Historic are equipped with the 327 Chevy small block V8, producing 430bhp, and independent suspension all around. Several different models were offered by GM, including convertibles, and 2 fast back coupe versions, with and without split rear windows. Note the rotating/flip up headlights, which became a staple of Corvettes until the latest C6.
A little heavier than most in the GTC65 category (1325kg w/ driver), and having one of the highest center of gravities in this class, the Sting Ray requires a unique driving style. Use the independent suspension and torquey engine to your advantage, by pitching the car into turns with too much speed. Then scrub off with slight drift, and power on smoothly once past the apex. - Jerry Chen
