Euro FT: Oran Park

Wow, didn't expect to do that well in this one! The pole position was a big surprise as I'd never been that quick in practice - I wouldn't be able to repeat that sort of time!

I wasn't too happy with the setup - it was fast but I wasn't comfortable with it. I probably could have pushed harder than I did, but Rory was a lot quicker than me over a run so when he got ahead at the start I didn't have much to answer with.

Got a bit nervous when Roberto started catching me towards the end. I was really worried that I'd lose the position but just held him off!

A good, clean race from what I saw. Was a lot of fun.

Didn't get the greatest of starts, but was looking forward to having a good battle with my teammate Iain Mabbott ... sadly it wasn't meant to be.

I got rear ended at T1, hit Iain and ended well off in the gravel. So much for the old saying that you can't win a race in T1, just lose it.

After getting back on track I got into a decent rhythm, catching up Barret and Iain's battle .... only to lose it at T1/2. Lost a place to Tommy through that. After that it seemed whenever I was getting back into contention and had a chance to pass Tommy I'd lose it at T1/2 .... three spins in all then.

Tommy span on the last corner after I'd got right back on his tail again - unlucky there - I was carrying a bit more speed on the exit so it would have been quite an interesting blast to the line.

Overall I was guilty of pushing a bit too hard I suppose, but I was very frustrated having been nerfed of on the first corner of the first lap and spoiling the chance of a good battle with a teammate. I'm looking forward to spending a bit more time in these now - great little cars to drive.

'Grats to Rory on the win (and series championship), Rob for the pole and P2, and Roberto, not only for a good run today, but for taking 3rd from me in the final points standings!

made one big mistake in T2 on lap3 while running 6th. coming in a bit hot and getting on the brakes a bit too hard, i went sideways and gave up 3 spots before i could get going again. but it didn't really matter in the big picture, as i doubt i would have been able to get around Charles, and 4th today is the only way i would have held Roberto off in the final points.

had great, fun battles throughout with Clay, Iain and Adam!

a couple times while chasing Iain in the closing laps i thought i might have an opening, but they came in spots that were a bit too risky.

That was an extremely hard but enjoyable race, I felt like I had to work every second! That's a great car/track combination, very challenging.

I was really pleased to go sub 1:13 in qualifying, I'd only managed to do that in practice a handful of times.

After Barrett's mistake I was just managing to hang onto the 3rd, 4th & 5th train for a few laps until a couple of small mistakes dropped me 2-3s back followed by a nasty oversteery moment which allowed Adam & Barrett to close up with about 5 laps to go.

I then got a bit twitchy with Barrett on my tail and gave him a couple of opportunities to get even closer but just managed to hold him off for 5th place. Great fun and very gentlemanly racing Barrett, thanks mate.

I'm disappointed I came into this season so late, I'll definitely be back for another go!

I find it is much easier to get a top 10 finish when there are only 12 people in the race!!

I was set a couple of times to have some good battles with people but I managed to spin myself out twice.

But a fun race. Even though these aren't my favorite cars they felt good today.
