1.5 Hours at Daytona

I lost my g25 in this race.
Cant turn with it.
Sorry to a Porsche driver I crash.

I was really looking forward to racing this. I had practiced and did several AI races and really felt comfortable about it. But,,,, About 4am this morning my dogs were having a fit. Didnt get back sleep till around 8am. Just couldnt get back up to do the race and if I had, it wouldnt have mattered anyway then. I apologize for not unregisteing. Sorry I missed it. Hope someone brings it back again.

Meh, apparently lap 5 was appropriate time for my router to want to reset itself.

3rd time I had a disco in this series. So, no more future GrandAm for me or races on Sundays.

Wow talk about going from real happy to real pissed off in a big hurry:)
I had a great run going running solid in third place until my brake pedal spring decided to pop off lates in the running. It worked ok for a few laps but in the last 5 mins it was sticking on and staying half down. REALLY SORRY for sitting in t3 forever! Every time the car spun It took ages to restart..

Traffic was awesome going bye. There was one part where Aaron Jackson a dp and I where going 3 wide in to the bus stop. I quickly let up and narrowly avoided an incident.. It was decent.

So other than nearly having a fit over my pedals, and watching a podium finish fade away with no chance of catching back up at all, that was still a great race!!!

I also had a funny moment trying to follow Conor's lines. I spun out within a few seconds, damn you Conor..lol, your tooo fast hehe..:)

What a race that was. My first full lenght event in rfactor that I actually finished.

From the start, I watched as Cornor and the rest head off into the sun set, leaving myself Nabil and Cory to duke it out. I'm still learning these cars so my laps were not very consistant, towards the middle of the race. I started to learn were the limits are of these cars.

With Nabil getting around me. and pulling a 4 second lead. That left Cory and me to battle it out, exanging positions numerous times.For awhile I trailed him for several laps. Even some side by side battling. Cory made every attempt to get by me on the inside or outside it didnt matter. I was on edge, and the adrenaline was pumping hard. Thanks for putting up with my Cory, being new to the series I didnt want to cause any problems but our paces were so close I had to put up a fight. What a battle that was!

Cory was much faster in the infield, but I somehow managed to close back up on the speedway. gaining alot at the bustop chicane were I felt most out of control. The car would just drift thru almost getting sideways a few times there every time I entered. I ducked into the pits finishing off my first stint and cory must of followed as I was exiting after getting fuel and tires he was right behind me and even more hungry.

That awsome battle ended when I slamed into the back of Isvan who was entering the bus stop at a very slow rate of speed. I was already on the brakes and had tried to sqeeze it out on the right but I hit and spun, with cory avoiding the whole mess going straight thru. Not sure why he was slow but I thought I saw a spining porsche also. Somehow I didnt damage the car, must be cause its a cadillac.

With my teamate 40 seconds ahead now after that incident and cory 30 seconds. I knew I just wanted to finish. Somehow I got ahead of Barrett, and saw Cory sitting on the track. I didnt understand until after reading his post race.

With Nabil securing 2nd place, and Barrett 10 seconds behind me with 5 minutes to go, I just had to stay on the track to secure 3rd, and 2 Podiums for Vision Racing.

My frist real attemp at rfactor finally paid off, I guess the sim isnt that bad at all, however there are numerous things I still dont like about it. I just had to use a different approach and keep telling myself this isnt GTR 2.

My only wish was to see how that battle would have ended if I hadnt got into a wreck and Cory hadnlt lost his pedals.

On to the glen.

Solid race for me. I was surprised by the speed of the Camaro here. It's a bit on the heavy side so I thought it would suffer a bit here, but no, quite the opposite, even with the 6 hour engine tuning.

On the opening lap, I let David by after T3, since he seemed to be in such a hurry to get around me. Well, it was was quite obvious to me that he was on the sticker tires because a handful of laps later, he fell off completely and eventually quit the race.

I was left by myself after that. I had a fairly hefty interval over Alex until he discoed, unfortunately. So, I was in cruise mode for the rest of the race. However, my shifter started giving me problems nearly half way. It started double downshifting which, in most cases, spun me out almost instantly. I spun out 4 times in the entire race, and at one point, collected a FABCAR going into T1, which I apologize for.

Other than that, it was a decent race. Grats to the finishers.

I won't be able to do the Glen race, so see ya guys after that :)

Well, I'm as happy with this race as any I can remember. I'm usually slow and rarely consistent, but I love racing the fabcars. I practiced and practiced for this one, and it seems to have paid off. Daytona is a really fun track to practice on, since you can push one turn or another without destroying the car if you foul it up and having to start again (ie Cadwell, GP200, Charade, etc).

Qualifying wasn't quite what I hoped, .2 off my best and into 8th, but I could live with that. I knew I was faster than most in the infield but never did get thru the chicane as fast as the other guys. Race started well, got past Mario on the first lap, and that would actually be the last on-track pass I would see either way. I hoped to take the fight to John, but he was in the draft with the top 4 guys and got away from me. Zak disco'd and put me in 5th where I spent the rest of the day.

I knew the car was consistent through the tire run and I knew I'd practiced well in the dark, so it was a matter of keeping the nose clean the rest of the way. I had constant pressure from guys in 6th, Brian then Dave then Rob coming hard at the end. Passing the GT guys went well mostly, but somehow I managed to catch Barrett at the wrong place every stinking time and usually didn't do very well, so sorry for a menagerie of bad passes.

Rob ran really well in the 3rd stint, but I knew I was keeping enough pace to hold onto 5th with the laps running out, and so that's how it ended.

Great racing with all of you, really looking forward to Watkins Glen in a few weeks!

Well it was a fun race. Had a good fight Ken early on before spinning out, dropping me behind John. Got passed him a few laps later and tried to no avail to catch ken again. Got caught up in a gt spin at turn 1 and hit the wall which damaged the car, but not too badly. Looking forward to the next race.

I musta had lady luck on my side for that incident cause I thought I was going for a visit in to the barriers!! I was barely in control! I saw how fast you where closing in on him, thought you had him cleared, then whamo! :)
