Fun-run: Elise Challenge

Was fun while it lasted. I had moved up to 6th (after qualifying 10th) and was chasing Mulgrew out of T1 a few laps in when my PC locked up. I shut down as soon as I diagnosed that it wasn't just a temporary hiccup, so hopefully nobody got any weird laggin/warping/etc on account of it.

Even so, I still have to say that I enjoy these cars. Just sorry I couldn't finish the race :(

Got pole and decided to take med fronts. Stuggled for grip in opening laps. On lap 2 Richard got a run on me into 5 but i was on the outside and got a better run out of the corner. Richard came across me and we touched and he spun. Sorry for that Richard not what i wanted to happen. From there I had Steve B chasing me but the fronts came up to temp after a few laps and i was able to pull away bit by bit for the win.

I just can't believe the lack of etiquette again...I am getting very weary of "racing incidents" that can be avoided by a little courtesy...I made a very clean pass on John who proceeded to turn me around for no better reason than " I got a better jump out of the corner"...I made the pass and if you got a better jump then re-take the position cleanly...resorting to pushing someone out of the way just doesn't sit well with me...I may not be as quick a driver as you but I touched no one in the race and even ceded a position to Dennis whom I blocked unintentionally...

R2P definitely has some of the fastest drivers in sim-racing but it sadly lacks common courtesy...

Please,...save your apologies for when you actually mean it and couldn't have done anything to prevent it. John, you easily could have backed out slightly and taken the position later in the race. Bad form.

Richard, i have said sorry, but if you had given me room it would not have happened and you probably would have still taken the next corner, just that your line would have been compromised. I dont have peripheral vision with only 1 monitor so when you came across i had nowhere to go but into you. Anyway sorry again.

EDIT: Having looked at the replay, your pass wasnt as clean you liked as you bumped me when I started to turn in, but no problem it was a pass in my book. On corner exit I take a line that I dont deviate from but your left side rear hits my front as you take a tighter line (on my replay the actual collision doesnt happen there is still a slight gap). All I did was power out, I am entitled to do that, I didnt drive into you, which i feel you are suggesting. Should I have backed off because you wanted the racing line?

Its just one of those things that happen Richard and I am sorry it did because i was looking forward to the fight.

That was fun, after I got straightened out from being spinned before the end of the straight right at the beginning. ;) Had some good, close racing with several guys. Check out this . Someone flying through the air at the backside of turn 1 on the first lap.

Fun racing the Elises as always; was a bit wild at times but otherwise pretty uneventful for me once it settled in. We just needed a mandatory stop so I could screw that up and end up last again! ;-)

Timed the lights about perfect and got a great launch from 9th on the grid, passing a couple of cars before T1. Almost blew it with that much Mo going into T1 and did tap Richard in the rear, but just barely from my perspective - I couldn't even feel it. Unfortunately he got a bit wide and rubbed doors with Steve P., who then got on the gas too heavy trying to defend the spot on cold tires and spun himself out in traffic, collecting Tommy. The resulting impact had Steve flying sideways over the top of several of us. Not fun for him or TC, but certainly exciting to watch! Came through that in 5th, then made it to 4th when Ryan went wide and signaled me by(thanks!). Picked up 3rd due to Richard's off with John, and then William outbraked himself into T1 with me in tow, and I was up to 2nd. Got my head down reeling John in and did FL the 1st 4 running laps in succession. But his med fronts were coming in about then so it evened out, and then I got into a couple of big tank slappers in that @#$!* chicane and that seemed to toast my soft tires for good. Never had as much grip after those two saves to make up for the lost time, so I just dialed it back a bit and hoped traffic would work in my favor since we started lapping at about 10 minutes in. it did to some extent, but not enough. I was about at my limit running with him anyway - getting by would've taken a mistake and that wasn't likely.

Racing's racing and stuff happens, but I think Richard's got a point that we could all stand to give each other a bit of breathing room. No doubt I'm as guilty of getting overzealous as the next guy, but even I would rather run all race behind someone looking for a way by and not find it than to knock them off for the spot. Generally, if I punt someone accidentally I'll pull off and let them back by before continuing, unless they were banging on me beforehand and then it's On.

Crap crap crap, this is starting to sound like a broken record. I'm not sure if this is still amusing or becoming irritating.
Or is that "still irritating but becoming amusing"?

The "Groundhog Day" part: I went from 20th to 5th.

The irritating part: I started 5th, and felt I had the pace to run with the lead group for a while. No way I can hang with Dixon/Hyland type times, but maybe I can fight for a podium.
Going into turn 1, being overly cautious as always, I drop back to 6th, and Parson's loses it and takes me out. I'm not mad at ya Steve, just disappointed. I'm sure you would have rather not had your race ruined either and went flying through the air (although that screenshot is pretty cool :-) and caused mass carnage in T1.

So I rejoin in 20th, blah blah blah, and at the end am eating away at Ryan in 4th and William in 3rd at nearly a second a lap. If it was an 18 lap race I would have got my desired podium, but it wasn't, it's a 16 lapper.

Such the way the cookie (or front fender) crumbles.
