Fun-run: GTR2-V8

God#@!$ m*&^%$%^&*ing GTR2...Constant connection lost during practice and Q...I get a great start and am holding onto the leaders when the conn goes again...%$#@ me...Instead of adding a pit guy that tells you nothing and some pretty trees, how about making the actual online playing a little stronger...Total BS...

Hope everyone else had some fun because mine was fun for about 2 and a half laps...

I had to drop out before qual with a nagging FPS problem. : (

FPS drops to single digits, then back up to normal (60-100+), back and forth!

I'll try reinstalling V8 mod then GTR2 if still not fixed.

I was also getting the same FPS fluctuation as Dan but was struggling along. It gets very frustrating when a decent start is left to the Gods...

Unreal...I FINALLY have a good run going and with 4 laps to go my game crashes.

If I had 6 litres more in the car I could have took the win. I had a 12 second lead over Mark but had to start short changing to try and save fuel. It wasnt enough and had to take a splash and dash 2 laps from the end. Very frustrating but only me to blame.

Well, that was odd. Started out with no clue about these V8's - just can't figure out what they want, setup-wise. By the time I figured out how to coax the thing into turning at speed, I really had to soft pedal it out of the slower corners to keep from looping it. Never could figure out the right brake balance either; seemed like it was either locking the fronts and plowing or trying to go around when I moved the balance back a bit. Are these things just pigs?

Anywho, started 14th with a lousy job in Q, then tried to stay out of trouble and let the race settle in. Got up to around 8th before stops started shuffling the order and had a fun race going for a few laps along the way. Started to hit some lapped traffic so I hit the pits, since I'd planned to come in at about 20 laps or so for rears and then get fronts a few later so I'd have good fronts towards the end. Entered my stall slowly so I wouldn't have to back up and my car stopped just shy of the correct spot. And I got stuck there! Couldn't shift, clutch, move, nothing; had no control of the car under autopit. I didn't get a pitboard, car didn't hit the jacks, and the pit guys weren't doing anything. Sat there and waited a bit to see if anything would happen, but finally figured it was just a bug and I was stuck. Esc., game over - bummer...

Some pretty wild driving out there; probably the most bumping, barging and over-optimistic overtaking moves I've seen on R2P to date. Closest thing to a pickup race so far, but hey, maybe that's just the spirit of Aussie V8's. BTCC on steriods! ;-)

OMG that was fantastic!

Had a Great scrap with Enis for the first part of the race. Then it was all to do with pit stops, tire wear and keeping these bloody things on the road!

Very hard work driving these I was sweating my t*ts off by lap 20.

Well done all those that managed to stay connected and unlucky those that didn't. I know I wouldn't have got my 2nd place without a couple of the better drivers leaving but thats online racing I suppose :(

We need some more fun runs Tim without a doubt and a series before much longed too I think :)

Sorry I missed out on the fun and frustrations. i was really forward to it. Due to my inability to read and follow directions, I couldn't join in time. Maybe next time. Looking forward to another fun-run for me get my feet wet. :)

Huh, it was frustrating. :(

I had a good pace to fight with leaders but Imola completely crushed me. Screwed up qualifying, ran only 1:37.5, low 1:36 was possible had I kept my act together and wasn't exhausted by Imola enduro. Qulified P3.

Race got off nicely, menaged to get better start than Poel, but that only lasted till T1, when I braked tiny bit late and fell to 6th. Spent first few laps fighting Andy Wise, when I finally menaged to overtake him leading trio was 7 s ahead.

After overtaking Andy I spent few laps getting back into rythm. Crucial moment of the race came when I pitted. I took fuel, and tires but car wouldn't start. :( I spent, literally, 2 mins trying to get it started. Really frustrating. "Lap 12: 0:04:53.150" :(

3rd stint was best, I menaged to come back from 20 s deficit in 11 laps and overtake few people. That was fun.

Here's hoping for better luck next time. These cars handle so much better than in rF that I don't think I'll be coming back to V8F, except for Bathurst.
