2.5h Finale in France

Congrats to the winners and champions in all classes.

Well I had much better pace for this one. In practice anyway. I was doing solid :14s, but couldn't manage it for Q today. Oh well.

Another lazy spin took me out of contention as I lost about 10 places and had to try to crawl my way back through the field. Many more mistakes took me even further back. I tried to go slightly off-sequence to make up some spots, which worked for a bit until I took it into the dirt on the outside of the fast right-hand sweeper and crashed spectacularly into the outside Armco barrier.

My 100th race at R2P ends, in the words of Josh Troy, with a bang.

My race ended after a lengthy journey to the pits. I got nailed by a rogue DBR!! Get my pit stop done, leave pit..BOOM...Engine said Good night..:(

Man, though race. Came home just about 10sec left in the warmup, loaded the spa setup and thats it.

In the first lap i spun alone and was in the back of the field. As time goes by i settled with the car and was able to gain some ground to the cars ahead.

fast forward.... 90 min....

15min to the end, rob thaeler was behind me and fighting for the lead with steve taylor who was some 5-10sec in front. I let him by, and with him, about 4 or 5 prototypes. In the main straight i saw the spiker spinning, tried to avoid, with no luck, still the car was good, looked behind to see the wreck and....... freeze. Again for the third time with this mod, C++ runtime error. :(

I want to apologize Marcos Junior, halfway through the race, he tried to passe me in the outside, i give room but misdugjed his line and spun him..... really sorry.

RODRIGO... THE SAME ERROR WITH ME!!!!! That is what initially froze my screen, then kicked me out all together with 3 minutes left and a podium finish in P1... I was so bummed.....

Qualifying sucked, as I didnt get a clean lap in... I was able to do 1:09.5's, which would have taken pole... No big deal...

Race started and I felt my pace was a little slow and I took a while to get comfortable... Even still, the top 4 guys in P1 where staying together... I was surprised I was actually running with these guys... I had a great car and pit strategy, when I had some "message" come up after my pc switched from the game screen to my desktop... I hit the brakes, didnt even read this long message, just closed it, and selected my rfactor... I was back in business, but lost 30 seconds to Steve Davis... I knew my chances were gone at that point.. I just kept driving for a podium at this point... No driver mistakes until the last 45 minutes, with a couple of rumble strip spins... with like 4 minutes to go, running in 3rd.... with a lap over 4th place... I got this screen/sound lock up, then it went silent, switched to my desktop again.. and a C++ runtime error thing... Again, I didnt read it, as I was hoping I could switch back to the race.... No such luck... I was really let down after a decent run for me against some really great drivers... I run "enditall" before I run rfactor and still this thing happens... I need to figure out how to not have these issues.....

By the way.... I am SORE today..... I dont know about you guys... but 2.5 hours, was a long damn time.....

Had a decent race. I fully expected to be in the back of the class.

Working overtime the last three weeks, has forced me to pull out of races and skip practicing. Add that to the fact that this was the first races on my new pc, and I had a lot stacked against me.

I dialed in the setup to make it stable and went out to try my best with what little time I had.

Had a great start. the Courage is always good on fuel, so I knew I could push for the entire race... if need be.

Had contact early with another P2 car in Turn 1. Not sure what that was about, but there was no way possible that passing attempt was going to work. Driver should have known better. Thankfully it did not affect my Championship run... Actually his error in judgement helped me, strangely enough, it actually dialed out some of the oversteer I had in my car and made it much easier to drive.

Saw that Marcos had some issues, and I got around him, and eventually put him a lap down. He show some extreme professionalism. In the last 10mins of the race, i moved over, on the back straight, so he could go by unchallenged. He pulled up next to me and flashed his light a couple of times as if to acknowledsge/conceed the Championship, and pulled ahead and drove away. Great fight Marcos. Thanks for the fun.

Apologies to some of the GT1 and GT2 drivers. There were a few instances where, at least I felt that i had cut it close on some corner entries. For the most part, you guys drove great.

Thanks to Steve Davis, for letting me know he was behind me at the end of the race, for me to let him by so I didn't have to go around again. Thanks Steve.

I had a bad accident... My wheel went nuts and the car went to the left on the front straight...Spun and came to a complete stop and Matt unfortunately was a few seconds behind and made contact... Sorry m8... I pitted and esc'd out... No reason to keep racing...

I plan on driving the GT1 in quite a few events soon so this was a good opportunity to test/practice and help SI get into 2nd place in the gt1 standings. All mission accomplished :)

Before the race I tried whispering to my teammate Tristan "hard or medium?" but instead is was a public message so I had to make a joke of it HAH!

Race was fortunately uneventfull for me, I had a few short battles with Mark but for the most part i was outclassed by the other GT1'ers. Faster and slower traffic was great, as always there are some close calls and momentary mis-communication but no strong impacts or punts. I did spin Mr. Eagan because you almost stopped on track!! You can't do that just keep it moving, or stay still after a spin. Regardless sorry for the spin. Also I spun myself in T1 and was hit by a Porsche sorry about that.

It became clear quickly that hard was the way to go, which I had done, so I was good for a full tank. Total race was 2 full tanks, and a top off, 2 sets of hard and one set of soft, could have gone super soft for last 15 minutes.

Overall a great race, drove solid, got comfortable with the car and a solid 4th place finish, helping Si get into second.

Now I need to start practicing for P1 endurance races in the approaching season...

@ Brian - I always take two Aleve before bed after a long race. Never wake up sore.

This was a good race for me. I set a personal best in qualy pulling a 1:12.xxx.

The race itself went very well. The main objective being to keep as much pressure on Marcus as possible. This was difficult as we moved through GT traffic and a couple of mistakes on my part.

Luckily these mistakes did not include damage and I made it to my first pit unscathed. The second stint was sdpent largely alone and I niether made up or lost time.

The third stint was really and intra team battle between Matt, Colin, and myself. As I had stopped first I caught Matt during his stop pretty easily. Colin took his stop a few laps later butsince he was much farther ahead we were dead even when he came out.

This resulted in some late race action with multiple reversals and a few hairy moments as we pushed to maintain position and wqork the traffic.

In the end Colin dropped wheel and spun opening the gap and giving me a litle room and fourth place.

This has been a great series with some great moments.

Congrats to the podiums and Matt and all the series Champions.

Thanks for the statements, you were worthy of the championship.

I had some problems with tire, and ended up beating it hurt me a lot,

I'm happy with the league that I did, it was fun, I managed to help the Scuderia Internazionale win the championship.
