V8-West Nuerburg

The dogs were playing and danced around beneath my desk, gleefully screwing up my braking points and what-not. Then (after breaking into the top ten) I pit in and screw up the pit speed limit, so instead of back-on-back tire stops, I had to make a tire-stop/go-tire pit strategy, which got my temper going, which eventually ended my race on the back stretch when I forgot that these dumb cars aren't state-of-the-art and accidently kicked the back loose under braking.

I couldn't save the spin and slammed the nose into the safety wall, screwing my suspension. I pitted it and sat for the rest of the race to avoid the DNF.

Uh, apparently I could've salvaged something out of this mess. My suspension was GONE when I pitted in. After seeing the leader finish the race, I pulled back out to do a final lap, and my suspension was fine!

Something new in regards to the patch?

Well, after qualifying 3rd with a PB I expected a better result here. Unfortunately I misjudged my pit strategy and was left fumbling around on full tanks and worn tyres for most of the race. :S

I had my best run in a very long time and am really glad with the result. I squeaked out pole position but was a little scared with 2 Toms and Conor behind me...I had a decent start and was glad to see the guys behind me fighting it out and letting me build a lead...I ran as hard as I could and was fortunate to get my first win at R2P...Congrats to my teammate and Conor and I can't wait until next round...

Great win there Richard and great race everybody! That was a blast :). It was my first race in these cars and I wasn't disappointed :).

After securing a 4th place spot on the grid during qual, the race kinda started slow for me. I was put in the unpreferred lane so during the start, I had to try and avoid all the cars that were going every which way to find an opening because of that god awful turn 1. Fortunately, everybody got through okay and still kept my 4th place. For the next few laps, I was battling with the two Toms in front of me for 2nd place. Actually, they were the ones battling, I just sat back watched to see if they were going to crash. They sure came close to one another but in the end, I was the one that screwed up....doh! While in that quick left-right combo of corners in sector 1, my car got very loose and I went sliding into the asphalt outside of the track. Fortunately, I stopped myself from going back into the traffic but I lost many spots because of that and found myself in 9th.

No problem though, in the next few laps, I got up to 8th and was soon on 7th place's bumper who was also in a train going all the way to 4th place. Problem was, my tires were worn and I wasn't able to pass them easily despite being faster than them. So, with Tim's recommendation over TS, I went in the pits a few laps early to play some strategy. After that, I found myself at least a couple positions higher than I was before and I was closing in on the battle between Pat and Dimitry. Those two were having a heck of a battle but I knew I was slightly faster and to make my strategy work, I really wanted by them. Fortunately, on one lap, I took advantage of Pat's mistake in the chicane and passed him before the final corner. I started working on Dimitry, but my tires were worn and because of that Pat, started breathing down my neck. Before I pitted again, Pat and I had some great battles on track but that allowed Dimitry to pull away some.

So, I duck in again and come back out in 7th. I then started to pull out some of my fastest laps of the day and once the pit cycle was finished, I found myself in 3rd :). From then on, I tried to chase down Tom but he was just too fast for me. So, I just kept it cool for the last few laps and cruised home with a 3rd place finish :).

Had a decent race except for two things.On lap 1 in about turn four the car in front of me slowed a bit and I just did make contact,I tried to back off but too late and he went around. Don`t know who it was but I apologize if any blame falls on me. The other thing was a penalty for speeding in the pits,missed it by about 3 mph and 15 feet.As usual though , it was intense fun out there.

Ah, was wondering what happend Larry. You were only about 3 sec back going into the 2nd pit stop.

And Conor, great 3rd place bro!!! You have to run more V8 races guy!

This race has got to be the most fun I have had to date since I started in Tim's original group! : )

I don't know what happend but I was able to keep up with Jerry and we had a heck of a race. I would eventually mess up and lose him, but then he would make a mistake and there he would be, giving me the incentive to drive like a mad man to try and catch him up.

During one stint, Jerry pitted one lap before my planned stop. At that time, I had lost sight of him after doing a lawnmower like drive in the grass. I then drove like a bat out of hades to see if I could do like the real racers do and make up time on the inlap.

It worked! After my stop, I came out with Jerry right ahead of me (or maybe he just had a longish stop). Oh boy, here we go again!!!

In the end he proved his better driving skills with fewer mistakes. I was pretty much having to drive quali laps which was really exhausting ( I had already driven over 3 and a half hours worth of races!).

This is why I'm a sim racer, I had a grin a mile wide during these battles with Jerry. Looks cool on replay with the two SoCal Motorsports "Team Kiwi" cars going at it.

Sorry to hear about my teamy Ray's problems. Man what a bummer, to go out on the last lap and find out your car was just fine! That's why I will always go out after a major repair. The car might just be drivable, allowing you to finish the race.
