Good race, congrats top2!!

First off, sorry for being a little wild at the start. I bumped G Didduck on the way out of the hairpin, luckily you didn't spin, however I think you got run off track by others who got close because of my bump, SORRY. Also sorry to the folks behind us, I'm sure I slowed you down, and maybe created some contact behind me.

I got in the zone and was happy to finish 4th, but luckily Emmo P had a problem and I got my first podium here at R2P!!! Thank you lap traffic for being cool. I got a little close to one of you, and another was way too nice, but thanks.

Had a decent qual but Krue was smokin fast in that GTNDC Saleen and took the pole by almost half a second.

I got a decent start and was able to protect my postition from Emmo through T1 and I got a nice run toward T2 so I took the inside to protect. Like an idiot I brake early then realize it and back off only to lock up the brakes and smack Krueger pretty good. So Emmo gets us both and I slowed to allow Krueger back by, surely not the way I want to take the lead.

Well that turned out to be a good thing having Emmo leading cuase Krueger was all over Emmo and I was doing all I could just to stay within 2 seconds of them both. They were having quite a battle up there too. I imagine if Emmo wasn't ahead of Krueger then Krue would have ran off into the sunset. Instead about lap 38 Krueger got inside of Emmo a little and there was some contact, all I saw was smoke and almost crashed myself. I didn't realize they both ended up off the racing line and I took a wide corner. After I passed I thought man this is pretty shitty way to get the lead but then thought, screw it these guys are going to catch me anyway. So I motor on with a 4 second lead, soon I see cars exiting the pits and my tires are toast so I am having difficulty passing them. A few laps later I see Emmo come out of the pits and I still have 4-5 laps to go before I can pit. Then it hit me, if I can hold up Emmo until I pit there is no way he will get back by me. Well about 2 laps later I flashed him by cause Iwas all over. The next lap Krue caught me and I flashed him by too. Then I pitted, all is well until the crew tells me they are repairing damage :( I still managed to get out with a 7 second lead. Now I have fresh tires and not a lot of fuel so I proceded to lay down my best laps and opened up to a 16 second lead when I realized fuel was real close. Cruised the last 2 laps and brougt it home for he win :)

Sorry to Emmo and Krueger, but sometimes that is the way it ends up.

Damn good race, I was looking for the water bottle during my awful 2 pit stops, for some reason I got delayed on the fuel and the car was off when I came to a stop! One was well over a minute. Aside from that, I probably could have been in the top5. Car was handling real good but had to baby it after about15 laps, I was running in the red like 212 degrees and wound up short shifting 70% of the race.
From the start was trailing Kent and the boys and that was my plan to stay as close as possible, but as I drifted back due to my temps i found the likes of Dennis M, Ryan and Tom Stanger, which provided some top notch racing.

Tom, just in case I tapped you in T1, I want to say sorry, because from my car I didn't feel anything and was getting a screen glitch exiting that turn, thats why I gave you back the spot just in case and it didn't matter anyway with my lousy pit crew screwing me up.

Really enjoyed my first 1:30 minute race, thx guys & R2P again

The first thing I need to do is appologize to Krueger for tapping him after he passed me on about lap 30...I should have totally slowed down since he was chasing Welker, but like an idiot I slowed down just enough to let him by, but then got back up to racing speed and I was on the inside at turn 2 before he cleared it as he came in low which resulted in my tapping his rear quarter panel and spinning him on the track. I gave him another tap on his front to straighten him out then waited for him to get back up to speed, but I'm sure it cost him some serious time. I gotta learn to stop racing when I'm obviously not competing for the position. Well...I'll learn. Sorry Krueger.

On the other hand it was a great race between me and Garret for a good part of the race...for about 10 laps where he would pass me and get a bit ahead then spin then I would get a bit ahead then spin, etc. about 3 times before he finally stayed up front...good job finishing only one lap down.

One thing is for sure though...I still need to work on my pit. I did manage to select medium rubber this time so I only had to make one pit stop, but I took on more fuel than I needed and didn't turn off my ignition soon enough which resulted in a whopping 68 second pit stop instead of my usual 43....probably wouldn't have resulted in an extra position this race, but in the future I hope to finish on the same lap as the leaders and will need all the seconds I can get.

On another subject I was surprised to see 1/2 the field dissapear before 1/2 the race was finished. I remember coming into the pits at about lap 38 in 4th place, but left 9th with only 10 cars still in the race.

I just watched the replay and I'm so sorry Dennis...lag must have gotten us mixed up. The replay shows my car dissapear from in front of Dennis then reappear partially inside his car then behind him then like skyrocket past him and knocking him into the grass. I had no idea anything had happened. The replay shows that at time index 504.348 I am somehow 1 car length behind Dennis (though still in the 8th pos to Dennis' 9th, then at 504.489 we are touching front corners, at 504.581 I am like 5 car lengths ahead while he spins off into the grass. I just looked at my local replay and I wasn't anywhere near Dennis, and I'm sure he's just as flabbergasted. The netcode in GTR2 sure needs some work if it's going to do stuff like this.

Congratulations on the win Kent... didn't know a Corvette could be that fast. My race was lonely. Didn't have many battles. Settled into 6th and pretty much stayed there. Still need to work on my pit stops. Hey Gregg, I think I owe you an apology. You never touched me... I just went into T1 way too hot and went way wide on exit. I could have taken you out, sorry. I know better. One more thing, sorry about my comments (thank you) in qualifying. Politeness, it's such a bad habit.

Hey no problem Tom, it was good chasing you down and ironically I just used this whole scenario in a blog Ripspeed put up on racing etiquette, check it out quite funny you posted this.
