GTC-Euro Valencia

Poor qualifying for me, never got a clear lap but managed 5th. The starts are a mess for me. I never see the lights on red. Its seems to go from waiting for people to join, to green lights? I dont understand this.

I didnt realise that two stops were mandatory. I compromised my strategy because of this. Anyway I got a disco with about 7 laps left so it didnt really make any difference! I really enjoyed racing lapped cars into corners also, putting me off track! Way to go guys!

Sorry if my post seems negative, but I dont understand what is happening at the start for me! I have raced to two races now with r2p and twice I have not seen the lights go red? Does anyone else experience this?

It might have been a great result for me but was a great race at all. Qualied 2nd, but 3 guys in front had so close times so i was happy with that.

I started the race med front and hard rear which was the worst mistake i did in race. I ll never start with hard-med combination in which pit stops are mandatory cause if i change fronts and not change rears it causes unstability. I wish i started with med-med and i could stay with Janko and Sam with this way. After first pit i changed tyres to med-med and i was faster 1 second than the times i was making hard-med. After 2nd stop i found Darin and Janko in front of me. They were fighting lol. After 2 laps Janko could pass him. Darin's tyres was a bit flat i think, so i could catch him easily but passing him would be harder i thought. I chased him like 7-8 laps we were too close but i couldnt pass him even we were side by side a couple of times.

Finally I finished 4th, but i should learn double stopping from Darin lol.

John i never experinced this in R2P races, sorry for u it must be very annoying.

Qual wasnt very good, since i somehow got med-med for it :|. Start went OK and i was 3rd, but then got to front and pitted on lap 15. Then again on lap30, and took softer tires for last few laps. But when i came out i was behind Darin. Had a few moments with him, but got him succesfully in one of the lefthanders. But then i saw Sam was already 20s infront! I hate pit stop strategy of mine and need to change it... I loose way too much there and no metter how good my driving is it just doesnt metter...

So...good race, but im not happy with it since i realy drove perfectly but lost all in pit. Im gonna change tactics for next race, i promise Sam ;)

Well considering this was my first time with the car, and the setup from a Shark team mate, I did ok.

Shame I lost sooo much time on the pit stops, dunno why, but lost 20 odd seconds to those around me.

Good battling throughout and although would have been happy with a top ten before the race, felt good enough for maybe 7th or 8th.

Now off to speak to the pit crew....

John, the lights are pretty faint and goes red straight after the end of the countdown of 2 minutes. Even in 6th next to you it wasn't the easiest thing to see, although I don't know if you have another issue with the game. Hope you get it sorted. By the way, trying to outbrake two cars in one corner on the first lap and side swiping the lead one isn't a good idea either, but then it was pretty hectic out there so it's a bit hard to avoid. It wasn't a big tap but it was just enough to take me to the sand trap. Recovered in 10th.

That was my best R2P qualifying, in 6th, but probably one of the biggest struggles in terms of the race. I went with medium tyres front and back and try to run to halfway, then stop twice on consecutive laps for fronts and rears. I got the worn tyres warning one lap before pitting and it was pretty precarious to drive. Of course, I didn't figure out that the pit entry lights is also where I had to slow down (was looking for the line). So I got a stop go for that. After the stops it was just a matter of getting past a few cars to salvage some positions. Looking at the replay, if I didn't have to do the stop-go, I might have been up around where Torben finished.

It was good fun battling with Torben. I was running with him before the first pitstop, after my first pitstop, then after my second stop when he was one lap ahead. At the end I also had Nick Philips in my mirror after passing him in the pits, but the pressure was too much and the tyres were gone, and he went pass me as I went for another trip into the sand.

I was running comfortably in practice with 1x tire wear, with the same setup, in high 1:35, low 1:36s, for 40 laps or so. I don't know where that pace has gone ... I suppose Nick wasn't in my mirrors :)

I changed strategy slightly,going for mediums all round instead of hard rears.changed rears 1st stop and all fours on the 2nd,didn't want any surprises.Really didn't want to sacrifice time with changing all four but in the end i don't think it made much difference,although i nearly stole 9th off darren Adams but just couldn't pull it off.

GUess that is part of it then if I change all four both times.

What do you do for fuel? I filled up each time, or is it better to max out then fill up on the second stop?

A bit disappointed with my pace this week but had some good racing in the middle of the pack. I got caught out when I let one of the fast boys through, and had a couple of other incidents that kept me from gaining any positions.
Well done to the podium finishers, don't know how you managed such a hot pace round that track, excellent driving.

Knew trouble was ahead when I saw the times Tolga and Janko did in practice. From that point of view 9th in quali wasn't that bad at all. I have to agree with my teammate John that the starts at R2P are slightly hectic to say the least. Standing starts are known to cause the most trouble in the first turn. About my race ... it was in lap 2 when Allen Cotton dove on my inside and bumped me out. Dropped back from 7th to 17th. I watched the replay and saw it really wasn't anybody's fault. But it didn't make me happy ofcourse. Had some great racing after that working my way up through the field. Pitted halfway. Changed the fronts in lap 19 and the rears one lap later. Had an incident with Dan Ortega, this with me on the inside of him and I just nudged him what made him spin. Sorry about that Dan, but I don't know how I could have avoided that. Lost a few places in the last few laps and finished in 8th which isn't too bad after being 17th. Already looking forward to the next one. And I do hope John will make it to the finish and on the podium.

I started with a full tank. Can they fill up at the same time as they put tyres on or does it always take extra time for fuel?

I noticed that Sam Krueger's out lap for his 2nd stop was 2:12. That's like several seconds quicker than anybody else. I guess race winning driving comes into it, but what do you feed your pit crew? :)
