Sim Endurance Motorsport at Daytona

Had a good setup for a change but a little too much oversteering which made the first laps difficult filled with errors. After that it went a little better but was too far behind when i finally had a more driveable car. The race would end after a FAB car hit me from behind in the first corner. Guess the driver didnt know how much worse the NAGT brakes are :)

Complete and utter mod failure in practice with subsequent disco. gMotor 2 error.
Oh well, at least it happened in practice.

I should have taken the hint with all the graphics problems and just skipped the race (i never have graphics issues either) But it went all matrix as i exited the pits in Quali.

I got taken out about 30min into the race when a mustang punted a viper into me through the last part of the chicane sending me into the wall, suspension damage and killed my engine.

I really hate DNFs

...It would be nice to see split qualifying, its just crazy out there.

I've gone over 75 races here with only one punt, and I do *two* in this race. I'm sorry. :-( Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I *hate* ruining other people's races.

It would be nice to know that putting all four wheels on the curb would result in a penalty a week before the race. Someone asked that question in prerace and no one responded. Telling people after the first practice once they have run that line all week is not right. It would not have helped me much but it would have been nice to know.

After my DL last night, no real set-up to speak of I ended up having a great battle w/ Barrett for the entire race. Thing got wild w/ the battle when entering the highbank Barrett got a wiggle and came across my right front sending him into a spin, So Sorry Barrett, I waited for him and also took my drive thru, it didn't matter at that point b/c a great battle now had a scar attached to it :(

All-in-all I cannot complain for the result considering my set-up was all default based.

Sorry, Jeff, i didn't know at the time if you wiggled or i wiggled. What i did know was that these cars are not easy to keep straight on the banking sections. Didn't expect you to wait, but it helped me find the track again, so i'm glad you did!

Great fun and happy you were able to hold on to the position, now that i know it was me that wiggled.

I let a podium get away from me, possibly. Had a great setup and great laptimes. Had a good battle with Omar in the opening laps until I checked my fuel usage and figured my 1st stint would get shortened by fuel if I kept it up, so I dropped in behind Omar and just cruised. Ran around the bottom half of the top 10 for the 1st and 2nd stint, running very well. My luck ran out during the 3rd stint. Made my final stop, and went back out. Things were OK, until coming into T1 for the 1st time on not-fully optimized tire temps/pressure. An NAGT car took my line into T1. I had the brake pedal to the floor, but it wasnt enough and the NAGT car took a punt. I could tell at the very last second he could not see me and didnt really know where I was. He kept his line though, even though I was expecting him to move to the outside and give room, until the last second when I figured out the hard way that he didnt know where I was. Very sorry to whomever that was. 1st drive through. Got my shit back together, only to make another huge mistake later in the stint in judging the distance between myself and Mike Erikson in T4. T4 was by far the darkest corner on the circuit, and I was having trouble finding my marks as soon as it got dark. I thought I gave enough room, but I didnt, and drove right into Mike's right rear at full throttle, sending him off. Very sorry Mike. 2nd drive through and race killer. So I come back out after serving the penalty, and was pissed that, looking at the splits, it looked like my best possible finishing position was going from 3rd to 7th. Of course this made thing worse, because I went back out and blew every corner on the circuit for the next 3 or 4 laps. Had to nurse the car home with 2 rear tires that were dead.

Very sorry again to the guys whose race I ruined. Guess there was a bunch of numbskulls out there, wasnt too happy I was one of them.

Qualified P6 in NAGT class with quite a nice lap for me, but my race pace was clearly too slow as the race panned out.

A full tank of fuel at the start, I was hoping that others would stop early and lose some time in the pits putting onboard more fuel, but that was not to be the case. I drove a nice steady race, kept out of trouble, and came home 4th in class.

The early race was quite intense as I had Ricci and Severova very close, and we seemed to be trading the smallest of lap time differences for quite a long time. As the race wore on I managed ot open that gap to around 6 or 7 seconds, but after my pitstop the gap to the car behind was always quite big. I simply had nothing for the guys in front.

Enjoyed the night time race, definitely made it more difficult to judge braking points in particular, and whether or not a FABCAR was coming fast behind. Managed to clock my 10,000th mile here at R2P in this race too.
