Grats Garret and a great drive and battle. Had some good racing with Tim Brook too!

From 4th on the grid I spun the tires a bit too much managing to get off decent but right back to 4th place behind Ernesto, Garret and Tim. Just tried to save tires hoping they wouldn't get to far away. Was having fun watching Garret and Tim going at it about a second back when Garret went a bit sideways going into the corkscrew and Tim moved into 2nd. Then Tim stepped off giving me and Garret a spot up the scoring tower.

Just a few laps later Ernesto stepped off hard handing Garret the lead and me 2nd, Tim back up to 3rd. I think I was about 1 or 2 seconds behind Garret and 2 seconds ahead of Tim. Still trying to conserve, Tim started closing the gap. I started pushing and now closing the gap to Garret and holing the gap to Tim traffic and tire wear started coming into play when we got bunched up. Garret cleared traffic a bit better and pulled a gap before me and Tim cleared.

Now had to really conserve the right side tires from the workout they received earlier in the race and work the left side tires as hard as I could as they were in much better shape. Managed to catch Garret and the last quarter of the race was very tight laps but couldn't manage getting around him. Congrats again. Great racing guys.

Fun clean racing, enjoyed it even though I finished in the rear.

What a race!

Qual - Did a few laps and set a safe time then went out to try and beat it and did so, taking pole with 40secs of the session left.

Race - I knew I needed to get a strong start and keep the lead for my strategy to work. I was getting extremely high tyre wear but could lap in the low 24s.

I completely screwed up the start and was in 3rd by T2 behind Garrets Porsche which turned out to be the widest Porsche ever! I just couldnt get round until he made a slight mistake at the corkscrew and I slipped past. I set about catching the leader and just got about half a tyre on the dust but it was enough to send me off the track and I lost 2 positions.

Now to catch up on the pack again which, thanks to traffic, didnt take as long as i expected. I caught upto Garret and Barry who were having a bit of a battle themselves behind Brock. We all managed to get past Brock over the next few laps and carried on the battle between ourselves until I ran wide, again! I lost about 10secs to the guys infront so decided to calm it down and drive for 3rd place.

15mins from the end I was getting told by my pitcrew about how worn my tyres were - great! I just took it steady (3secs a lap slower) and just watched George Pol eat time out of me. I thought he'd have me by the finish but thankfully not. :D

Great race guys, probably one of my favourite yet.

I may have been the cause of the T1 melee. I qualified pretty well for me in 8th and as I'm usually too conservative on the start I tied to be more aggressive. As we arrived at T1 I was hard on the brakes and was very close to the car in front not sure if I was going to make contact. Then another car came over into me from the outside and I hit the car in front turning him half way around and causing everyone behind to take evasive action. I'm still not sure if I hit the guy in front first or as a result of me getting hit. Anyway apologies to all behind.
Actually enjoyed the race starting back in 17th after doing a drive through as I had several good clean battles along the way. Last laps were kind of lonely as my right front was getting close to the end so I had to back way of to finish.

Qualy: With all of the turns here at Laguna, I knew the Porsche would struggle to be at the top of the qualy grid. It turned out true. I had a bit of contact with Patrick on my first flyer when I was caught off guard by his early braking point. Sry again Patrick. I managed to set my best time on my 5th and final lap. All I could manage was 5th.

Race: I got a great launch and shot passed a struggling Alberto. There was some bumping and grinding by the pack of BMW's so I stayed to the inside heading into T1. To my amazement, I came out of T1 in 2nd as the BMW pack checked up on each other and Tim went a bit wide allowing me to sneak in underneath.

I fell into 2nd behind Ernesto and let him lead while I saved my tires. Tim, in 3rd, was a bit quicker but had nowhere to pass here at Laguna. After holding him off for a bit, he tried me down the inside into the last turn with a hip check, but he wound up goin wide and I took the spot right back. A few laps later, I got loose into the corkscrew and Tim slipped in underneath to take 2nd.

A lap or two later, Tim hit the slippery stuff going down the hill after the corkscrew and slide off letting Barry and myself take over 3rd and 2nd respectively. It was a very nice battle with Tim and I never saw him again after his off.

Ernesto started losing the tires about midway and, again, Barry and I slipped by him unchallenged. From here on, I tried to run consistently and save the tires. I managed to pull a bit of a gap to Barry in 2nd but lost it when I had a huge tank-slapper going down the corkscrew. This put Barry right on my bumper with about 12mins to go. He kept me honest and I was sweating bullets the remaining laps with him less than .4s behind me!

In the end, I pulled it out and CanAm took a 1-2 at the line.
