Magny-Cours Grand Prix

Grats Donato (told you it was a good time in afternoon practice ;) and podium!

Was having a great race untill my first pitstop. Decided to change to tires because they were on 85%. That went well but a few laps later the timing stopped and I got blue flags warnings. Strange, because I was in P4. I lost concentration and spun 3 times; the final one I crashed into the wall and lost a front wheel.

Too bad as it was a nice race with a nice battle with Kent at the beginning. But concentration is always hard to get right it seems :)

A powerfull comination : Vista X64 + Race/Evo = beautiful DNF...from lap 28 the game is stoped to counting my laps & times, and yes I run all entire race :D

What a great race!! Congrats to Donato and my team mate Steve Davis!

Qualifying:
Well, I set off and hit traffic and decided to abandon the lap. I'd made some wing changes to my setup thinking it'd make the car a bit quicker and it didnt pay off at all, I was lucky to take pole.

Race:
Got off to a good start and had mirrors full of Donato's Lola until about lap 12 when I looked away from the screen and ran wide at T1 allowing him to get through. The pitstops allowed me to leapfrog him but he soon closed me down over the next few laps.

I came up behind some back markers who were having a little fight between themselves at T1 and one braked hard causing me to swerve which lost me the lead. I couldnt keep up and in trying to do so, I went wide and lost a couple more seconds.

The last lap was when it got good, Donato was low on fuel and I was catching quickly, but not quickly enough. 1.3secs seperated us at the finish.

Overall I had a blast, I had created a bunch of pit stop profiles, after getting bumped on first lap, I selected the option to repair all suspension damage after 8 laps hardly able to keep car from spinning totally off pace. I went into pits and it only performed that repair, did not top off fuel, or change tires, this was a mistake, the car was almost as hard to drive as before pit stop. Each time I pressed gas, car tried to turn sharply left, making me really slow down out of every corner as I gently applied gas... I also had to hold wheel at 45% degree turned right to go straight.

I am glad I finished, and I am glad that I did not require fuel.

2 top tens to start this series is better than I ever expected. Thanks to all that helped me so much. I really appreciate it! So sorry to whomever I punted at the second chicane on lap 1. Broke earlier that I expected. I think if I didn’t have to do a drive through, I may have gotten a point in this race, but I’m very satisfied with 10th. I honestly thought I would be one of the slowest cars in this series for it’s my first season racing open wheelers. I can’t wait for Brno! See ya all there.

Qualy:
Had some traffic on my 1st lap and then got hit by someone, who was on his out-lap, as it seemed. D´oh!
My car was damaged and I´m happy I got some halfway decent result under the circumstances.

Race:
I lost some positions when Allen lost control and I decided to overtake him on the wrong side.
A few laps later I hit somebody at the hairpin after I missed my brake-point. Big, big SORRY from me!
I don´t feel well today and it had some bad effects on my concentration.
Had some good laps right before the pit-stop and finished up 5th.

There seems to be a bug with either this game or the server. It seems to consistantly pick several drivers randomly, and stop counting their laps during the race. It has happed to me a few times now, although I made it through this race.

This series is a blast. I hope this issue can be fixed.

Apologies is accepted, but one question Patrick...did you do your DT after that hit ?
My car was damaged and had to pit early for repairs and change my strategy.

My second race on race07 and a great newbie move hehe... since my only race on this sim was last week on monza, where my computer crashed on lap 10, i still didn't had made a pit stop on it, so i went to the pits not knowing if a pit stop could be programed or not... so stopped there, filled the tank with 60L, all manually and slowly, and pressed confirm, thinking that my tires and fuel would be replaced, took a long time to set all things then i left the pit, and my fuel ended in the last sector...
Hope i can get it right on the next race... anyway, thanks for the challenge when i was on track
