Spec Rhez

Second Race: Qualified last - - several seconds slower than practice time. Stayed out of trouble at the start. Tim and Yuri were battling in front of me so I was catching them. Some incidents got me a couple of positions on the track. Lapped somewhat consistently, but Pete was reeling me in. I did take chicane wrong and he was on top of me. He fell back (from dealing with the lapping cars as he related later on TS) and I came in at 11th. Someday soon will be a top ten!

Jonathan and Dimitry were super fast - I thought I gave Dimitry lots of room in T1 but he carried enough speed that his left tires went into the grass....congrats to the Jonathan and the rest.....Bill

Qualified fifth, but got a gift when Tommy's current bad luck streak apparently continued with a disco. I lost the leaders (and three more spots) when I did a world championship 90degree drift all the way around Big Bend. I got back by James Watson in the Esses and set off for Bert Owens. We were running the same times. I stayed a second or less behind him for several laps, till he finally had a small bobble in the chicane, just enough for me to get a run down the front straight. I bobbled in the same place next lap and he nearly got me back. I started catching up with Nick Johnston. I don't know if he had damage or a setup problem or what, as he's normally much quicker than me. I followed him closely for a couple laps till he had a small off entering the No Name Straight. Then he hung on my rear bumper a few laps before I saw him go off at the Diving Turn, where Bert got by him. From there I cruised on home in fourth, right where I started.

I'm happy with that, as this was never one of my favorite tracks, and I feared a much worse finish. Great racing with Bert for the whole race, and it was fun to get a pass on Nick, as that's probably the only time it'll ever happen. :)

Heh, yeah qualified second but disco'd at the end of warmup. Honestly I'm not that upset, I'm kinda thankful. If my ISP had disco'd me 60 seconds later it would have counted as a DNF. :/
So I count my blessings.

Really good racing guys. Loads of fun as usual. There was some good battles mid pack where I ran. This series is the most fun I have had in a road car. I hope we get to start a new season when this one is over.
