FIS '08 @ Daytona

Good race guys....Even if T4 was really not made in mind for open wheel?..Made for some really hard car control!
Had a really good race going with some 4 of us up top till like lap 30,then it was just Chris and I.
We pitted togather with like 5 to go..I took gas only..and then as I left the pits I over gased it and started fish tailing,but was able to save it and the WIN!!!

Didn't go so well for me, although it not being a DNF, I'm content (and I guess I went from 9th to a points finish, technically). Struggled with a setup that would cope with that bump in turn 4, and that was fast enough for quali (or the race). Wound up with a couple of incidents after some good racing with Josh and Tom Smith, and was on to run out of fuel.

Congrats to all on the podium, looked like a good race up front. And congrats to Tom, well driven.

I didn't test much and raced with soft tires, which I think was my downfall. My right rear was red when I hit the turn 4 bump and went sideways. Kicked around and backed into the interior fence, motor broke, race over.

Great racing though- I was a little afraid we'd be too strung out but it was excellent for as long as I survived.

Got to watch the last 10 laps of the leaders race- it was anybody's ballgame until Tom M got in & out faster and hung on from there.

I missed judged my fuel in this race. I was on the 44th lap running out of fuel and I thought I had enough to go 1 more lap.

As I was going down the back stretch the engine started to sputter. I see someone coming up behind me as I was just about to cut down off the track. It was a close call for a wreck as he pass under me but he did manage to get his car back in control. I didn't have the name tags on so I don't know who passed me. I am glad it turned out okay.

Coasting along slowly off the track with no fuel left I knew my pit stall was at the other end of pit lane and I decided not to go in as I did see some activity in the pits and figured I would not make it to my stall. I just coasted to a stop off the track.

Sure was a fun race. Had some fun runs around the track with Jadranko and a couple other drivers.

For me T4 worked best coming from the high line and lifting a little at the bump. I don't know how you guys held on taking that turn from the bottom line. My car headed for the inside wall if I tried that line.

There was some good racing in the back too. Slink, sorry for sending you around in T1 on L11 mate. I waited thru some traffic and a couple laps before making a move. I don't know if you didn't see me inside or if your spotters lie like mine do, but I was there. =)

No worries Tom, glad I didn't catch you with it. I watched the replay to see what had happened. I spotted that you were gaining I think, but then got into my blindspot, and then with the draft I was getting from Josh had to either brake or diveup the inside for the turn. I picked the wrong one...

I found with turn 4, by the way, that when I flipped the suspension settings, I could take it flatout without changing direction...
