Intro to GT3 Cup (Euro)

Quali:
Didn't went really good, didn't menage to extract all the speed.

Race:
Got punted 2 times in first 2 laps of the race which made me completely lost any interest in racing so concentration wasn't very high.

Sorry to hear about your contact Enis. One of the things I was looking foward to in doing this style of race was a higher driving standard.

I was really cought off guard in the beginning of the race, and my reaction time to the lights was very poor. Usually with the crappy pickup races with SimBin games, you gotta wait that whooolle 2 minutes while idiots sit around int he pits, go on the track, crash into somebody else, go back into the pits.....when I saw the lights going on, I thought it was a pace lap or something...so my practice starts were pretty useless. Luckily I kept 2nd out of the first corner, and on the second lap, Tim made the mistake that let me by. VERY clean racing from Tim. He was on my tail nearly the whole race and never got me bent out of shape. Sadly, when he got my outside going into the 2nd to last curve, we touched and I spun him. I like to think of it as a racing incident, but I didn't look at the replay yet. My front end slid, I blame myself. He amazingly caught back up, and my lap times were pretty poor too...we had one exciting bit of contact with two laps to go, but we both staged up again and went off.

Overall a very fine first race in my R2P career. Look foward to more races. I'll definitely get my ass kicked in the future. My race was built on my qually lap for sure.

[edit]: i forgot about when you got into the kitty litter Tim. I think you had a case of follow the leader. I went off and thought I lost it for sure, but then I looked behind and saw you were even deeper in it! Good luck for me :)

I had a real good time in this one. I wasnt expecting to participate, but with the small field I went for it. Snatched pole, but only *just*.

I was trying to take it easy in the opening laps, but I bobbled just slightly and Chris went for the kill. It was too early to really challenge so I kept it clean and lined up behind. I spent the next half of the race tucked up under his rear bumper until I finally slipped into the sand at the final corner. lost 2nd to Pete in the process.

The next couple laps I was able to run at full-speed. I hadnt noticed how badly I was being held up behind Chris until I got some clear track back in 3rd. set my fast lap of the race and caught up to Pete which wasnt far behind Chris. Pete slipped up, I passed and back onto Chris' bumper again. Went for the pass on the outside, 2-wide, and got bumped off. (Surely not your fault Chris, that's the risk I took going two wide on the out-side... it's all good).

I thought I was done for at that point, but again I caught up to Pete and waited for another bobble from him. He did just that and I went for the pass only to give him a tap sending him into the wall (so sorry Pete!!!). I was content with 2nd at that time as Chris was 10 seconds up with 10 laps to go in the race. I chopped a few seconds out of him before he spun (?) in turn-1 allowing me to catch right up. Two laps to go in the race and we are nose to tail again. I got for the outside pass again, but this time Chris chose middle of the road and I gave *him* a tap, spinning him. I stopped and waited for him to get going again but was unable to get the chance for another pass before the checkered flag.

Great racing Chris... I had a blast!

Heh, yeah, I go pretty slow when I'm in the lead. I always have trouble getting 10/10ths out of hte car in a race, as I'm always very careful, especially when I'm in the lead. My qualifying pace shows I'm quick.

I watched the replay when I tapped you in your outside pass. It's so close to call that I'd honestly just call it a racing incident. Also, you are correct: I spun and gave you 9 seconds near the end of the race. I was just a little shocked when I saw you pick up a second on me, and lost concentration for a lil bit. Sorry for going middle of the road near the end of the race when we touched. Pretty much a block on my part. More evidence of how conservativly I brake in pressure situations when I'm ahead. Ahwell.

No apology needed. It was your line to choose and my job to make a pass. You surely don't have to make it easy for me... in fact you better not! :)

Top-notch racing on your part Chris, I wouldn't have asked for anything more.

i just looked at the replay and it might have been that in lap 1 we had a slight contact but i honestly never felt anything. If i am the cause of the punter iam really sorry as it was never my intention to be in any body's way.
It was my first evening i had with GTR2 and i just wanted to race my own race.

I really got a bit freaked about how GTR2 runs online as i mainly play rFactor which allows you to drive bumper bumper with the pings we had tonight as they where all good.

Again iam really sorry if i got in any body's way.

No worries about the bump, Tim. I'd earlier made my acquaintance with the wall at the chicane thingy, when I nipped a bit too much off the right hander & it turned me the wrong way. The handling was a little umm.... interesting, after that!!!
Not too sure I really like these cars to drive, but the racing was fun & I guess that's what counts. Maybe a little more that 10 pre-event practice laps would have been a good idea too!
