1.5 Hours of Leinz

Horrible outing for me today. I totally hooped qualifying and started from last. I didn't mind just driving it easy and finishing the race, but in the very first lap I had a video lockup just after the rolling start. I hope neither of the guys behind me were affected. They didn't seem to be because once my video came back after about 5 seconds they were both ahead of me battling. After this, however, all of my graphics were acid trip looking like has happened before. Even still, I continued the race and one mistake led to another which saw me with red damage on both front and rear ends as well as a side. I pitted and came back out to just drive it home for last place and then CONNECTION LOST.

Machine locked up couple laps in. Doh. Looks like GPU overheated. Guess I shouldn't have left the heater on. :)

Was having fun, chasing DM, passed a couple of cars, but just a few laps into race I clipped the haystacks and end of race, tried to hit esc as quick as I could after finding out the engine had blown, but not until some cars found my damaged car...Feel bad for those that got into my car...End of race....

Good race everyone it was tough on the concentration here.

Race went well and didn't have any problems with cars except Kieron a few times. Which was my fault sorry mate I just didn't want to risk hitting the NAGT leader on a very tight track.

Congrats to podiums and to Kieron winning two and setting two records today!

I let my brother race in this for me as I'm trying to get him involved in this racing site. I thought he might like the mod as he owns a mustang GT.
He was doing ok with the little amount of time he spent with it until the flying over the cliff part. lol!

anyway he might join R2Play soon.

Wow that was hard work. I'm really not a fan of this place A race here in the Panoz series in my early R2P days made sure of that. I nosed a straw bail 20 mins from the end while leading only for it to kill my Engine. while Tristan launched himself off the bloody cliff yet his car survived that and he went on to win. So yeah it's safe to say I don't like leinz lol.

I'd been on the surver a day or 2 before the race and I saw Mike E doing 3.06's in his Volvo and I was pretty sure right then that he was the guy to beat. The best I could do was 3.08's in my Vette. So come race day I knew I was up against it, but with this being Leinz I knew it wasn't really about lap times, it was more about racing the track and not making mistakes.

Qualiy got off to a bad start when 2 turns into my outlap I realized I hadn't changed to stickers or lowered my fuel. So I race round and went back into the pits to sort that out. That mess up only gave me one attempt at setting a good time which wasn't something I needed, but luckily the track was clear and I managed a new PB with a 3.06.xxx which got me pole in class. Really happy with that cause with a track like this pole counts for a lot.

The first stint I just wanted to put my head down and hopefully try and build up a lead seeing as I had a clean track ahead of me, while the other guys would probably be fighting for position. It worked a treat and going for my stop I was 30 seconds ahead of Mike. This is where it all went a bit wrong though. I drove up to my pitbox only to find out that there was a Fabcar in it being seen too (bloody hope they sort that out in RF2). The Fabcar must have only just got there too cause I was waiting for what seemed like ages. Eventually his crew had finished and I got seen to by my guys. Then 30 odd seconds later I was away too. Flicked through the LCD and I wasn't surprised to see that my 30 second lead to Mike had now turned into a 5 second lead for Mike.

Heading into the first left hander of my outlap though I noticed a yellow flag, and knowing Mike was only 5 seconds up the road there was a good chance that it might have slowed him a little. Too my surprise though it turned out that Mike had tangled with a Fabcar and he was sideways at the side of the track, giving me back the lead. He soon got going again though and it was clear that he hadn't much damage cause from now all the way to the end he was never more than 8 seconds behind me.

Man it was tough going, the gap would close up then I'd push abit more and so it would go back up. I would then relax a bit and the gap would come down. It was really intense trying to push harder than I really wanted, and then the Fabcars would catch up so you had to keep your cool and let them pass when it was safe. (really, really sorry to any Fabcar guys who I might have held up along the way, but with Mike that close and me wanting the win really bad I didn't exactly jump out of the way like I normally would have).

I was watching every minuet tick by and I was praying that Mike might slip up but he never did. The final lap and I was buggerd and I really slowed down I was that tense. I knew I had a bit of a buffer to Mike but my god when we hit the town Mike was pretty much on my rear bumper. But with only 2 corners to go I was pretty sure I could hang on, and hang on I did.

Blimey, I've been online racing now for something like 8 years but those damn nerves still get me. Be it at the start just before the green, or if it's like Mike was doing and hounding me 5 seconds behind. Crazy but I love it :D.

Grats to Ryan on the Fabcar win and both podiums. And grats to everyone who finished you all deserve a medal :).
