Apologies to Mike E for the contact when trying to keep going in T1 after rubbing shoulders with Mike M- I should have sat still. Didn't hurt my car any, hope it didn't hurt yours.

I spent the first 2/3rds of the race playing follow the leader with Mike Erickson in the other Volvo. We stayed lock-step even through our pit evolution. I drove pretty conservative for the middle 3rd, trying to preserve my tires as best I could, because I figured it would come down to whoever had the most left between me and Mike at the end. Slowly but surely, though, in the final 3rd I started to see some of the lead pack up ahead. Now I started pushing a little harder, but still being careful. Traffic helped- first Chris Melton fell back a bit, and I pressured him for several laps. The awd Volvo may have an advantage at the end IF I'm careful, because the rear drive cars looked like they were getting tricky to drive. Chris eventually looped it and I had a real pucker moment as I scooted by unscathed. Traffic worked for me again as the leaders started threading through the lappers, and I worked on catching up to Tom Depke. I was right on his bumper in the final corkscrew, got my usual great Volvo exit and actually got alongside a bit, but couldn't hold the next corner and had to back off; Tom held his line and so held on to 3rd.

This was a lot of fun, going to be a great season!

I lost it in the 1st turn then got it stuck in the sand.
I don't like that track.
Also was running a caddy with a Vette setup!

I didn't have time to practice, sorry Next one I'll be better prepared.

The game looks so much better at 1900x1200. :) Spent most of free time this week putting together the new PC, so didn't get any laps in until I jumped on the server before the race. Made sure I picked up the braking points, and off we went.

Had some fun first few laps with couple different people. Spent rest of race managing the gap back to Barrett. Looking forward to the season, great racing.

It might be my lack of practice with this mod, but I am having a heck of a time getting the Cadillac to feel comfortable. The braking seems way off, and I finally dialed out the understeer just before the race during qualifying. Geez.

I had my fuel set perfectly in my setup, and then as I was coming in for my pit stop, for some reason I thought I would need less, so I took off 1.5 laps of fuel before pitting. Well, as luck would have it, I ran out of fuel crossing the finish line with only one lap to go. Man, that sucks. Not that I lost much - I would have finished a paltry 14th anyway. Instead, I ran out of fuel and finished 19th. I just can't seem to dial in the Cadillac. The brakes are giving me fits. I'm afraid to brake hard - I can't find the right bias or something. :<

Oh, and by the way, it's great to see 24 drivers out for our practice runs! I sure hope we can keep up this kind of attendance during the season! Woo hoo!

I would like to officially request that auto blip and auto lift be allowed on the server. It seems that if auto clutch is allowed, these two settings are not unreasonable to request.

I know there is an ini file on the server somewhere that allows or disallows this because I ran into the same problem in another league and the admin fixed it there by making a change in one of the ini files on the server.

Anyway, I hope this can be considered before the season starts. I put it here in the Post-race section because both pre-season races have forced it to be disabled, and made for a more difficult race for those of us who are used to using it (in other words, me!). Thanks!

I'm with Jason on the auto blip/lift. I'm slow enough as it is and couldn't figure out why I was losing it on downshifts. I didn't realize these were turned off. At least I feel a little better about my dismal performance now.

Please, auto blip/lift for us guys that just don't have the alien talent to do all that fancy footwork! This is supposed to be fun, remember? : )

That was fun. Me and Tim had a heck of a time in the first set of laps. He was quicker in some parts and I was in others. That Viper has some monster brakes. After awhile I was able to pull a gap after Tim got in the sand a bit. Then with just 5 minutes to go... I turned in WAY too early in turn 7 and the curb just looped me and i ended up in the sand. As I tried to get back on track I saw Tim go by. Ah well. That's how it goes sometimes :D.

Can't wait for the season to start and to see Tim join us. It's gota be tough sometimes to sit and watch instead of being in the race and fighting.

Had very little time to prac. Vaca for 2 weeks. Missed the promo release races and all the fun runs. Boo Hoo.
Was running the vette in the 32-33 sec lap range after 10-15 laps during practice. Qual'd 9th.
Start of race I was following the 2 Mikes in the Volvo's for the 1st 6-7 laps. Then I looped the vette coming onto the front straight. Going from 1st to 2nd gear was a little treacherous coming out of the corner. Tire spin caught me out and headed the vette into the inside barrier. Limped around the track because the front left tire was blown. Came out of pits in 22nd place and slowly picked off cars. Was up to 16th place with 15/14 in sites when my wonderful ISP connection disco'd me again with a few laps left. Time to call Charter again and give them hell!!!!!!!!!
