Why did I recieve a penalty in the 9th lap?

Not issued by the Steward, so it would have been from the game itself. Most likely for cutting corners as I can not think of any other reason the game would issue a penalty.

Quali in 3rd with a personal best time, then I got punted off at the first corner on the first lap (didn't see anyone do a drive tru) and ended up last, fought my way up to 5th and would have taken 4th if there was a couple of more laps in the race.

Dont think it would have needed a few more laps John, you'd have had me within half a lap for certain. The viper got off the line brilliantly, very fast acceleration and I was 4th into T1, the car was great for the first 5 laps and I hung with Claudio, giving him the occasional scare as my faster viper pulled closed on the straights, then the car started to get a litle understeery and by lap 8 I was losing 3 seconds a lap, I will have to do some tyre testing before I take this car again.

I checked the replay John and you had side to side contact with Matej, if anything you turned into him, weirdly the contact is lighter than the big push you get off the track. This would be a good incident to throw at the "powers that be" under the new punt rules just to see what is decided. For me it was a racing incident, matej was already in the corner and on the racing line, he doesnt appear to drift out and hit you, if anything your speed and turn in brings you into contact with him.

Had a very interesting race-long battle with Heinz, in two cars that couldn't be more different. The Seat has bucket loads of grunt, but come the corners it can't make up it's mind which end to grip with. Then there's the Vertigo, sticks like glue, but a little wheezy down the straights. In the end, grunt won. But only just :)

I didn't cut any corner, and didn't recieve any warning or something. Suddenly, in the 9th lap I got dropped to the last place and the car in front had a 30 second gap. You can see that on the replay, tell me why did that happen..

I didn't have my replay turned on and there isn't 1 to download, so I was only going on what happened at the time ( I saw a flash of red then I was in the gravel) so apologise to Matej for the accusation.

Valentin, I know the reason for your problem, but not the cause. Check out the 2 screenshots I uploaded (sorry, but I got the captions wrong way around!!!). You show you're on Lap 8 of 8, but Patrick (and everybody else) shows Lap 8 of 10. Therefore, the game stopped scoring you past Lap 8.
Anyone got any idea what could cause this?

I had something like this happen in a race 07 race in season 8, Very strange.

This a PM i sent after that particular race

"just noticed on results page that i was given a DNF and only completed 15 of the 16 laps, i know i finished the race ahead of sean yoder and the replay confirms that (winners race finished at 1650 and i crossed finished line at 1730). Was i given a penalty and deducted 1 lap? or is there a problem with the way race07 gathers the results?

I know i didnt crash on last lap and i try my hardest not to get any dnf's so i dont understand this.

Wonder if you could shed any light"
