Daytona Showdown

First off let me say sorry to my team and to my teammate for letting yall down. Is wasn't my fault.

This is getting pretty old really quick. You try to be nice, you try to give room, you just about put yourself into the wall sometimes just to let someone by and when it comes down to it you get taken out by someone else. What on earth to I have to do to actually finish a race. And no before you say anything, I am not mad I am just completely tired of it.

Bump-drafting is all well and good if you know what you are doing. If you don't then don't do it. Simple as that. I am no expert but I do know that you do not bump draft going into the corner or hell even close to the corner and also if you are going to bump-draft someone then you need to hit them square on the bumper otherwise they will go flying and into a wall.

Also not sure about anyone else but the starts and restarts of these races are just messed up. It seems like once the pacecar exits then everyone speeds up. Should it not be maintaining pace speed until the restart line? Not my call but that seems like the way it should be. But I could be just nit picking things because I am not very happy at the moment.

Oh well, life goes on and I am going to get some food.

I had fun racing with ya'll again after several months of a forced hiatus. Hopefully, I'll be able to join more races in the not too distant future.

This race was more of a learning experience for me . . . and I learned not to put so much damned tape on my grill! Ka-Blammoo with 8 laps left! I nursed it as much as I could, but it was no good.

Anywho . . . congrats to the winner. I had fun. Hope to race with ya'll again, soon.

I think that Jim and I could make it a bit higher on the last lap on the outside line. If i didn't tap that wall and if someone third joined us.

I couldn't catch up the lead pack without last caution so it saved me.

sorry I missed it. I got freed up very late and when I fired the machine up, you guys were just about to start the race.

Looks like it was a tough race. A few suggestions perhaps. When the pace car goes off, the leader might want to declare that he/she will go pace at 80 or whatever until the start finish line. It might also be a good practice for everyone to hold their position until coming out of T2. No one is going anywhere at that point so why rush to get a position at this point? You can bump draft the entire lap IF the front car drives his own line and the second car is square like William says. The third car, however, must take care not to pinch car #2. Last, in this type of racing, moving your wheel just a few degrees on entry, in the middle, and the exit of a corner is not holding your line. Just a few inches either way on the track and you are off line. To go fast, you need help and you must be extremely precise. There is no other way to plate race. But what do I know? I couldnt even show up on time.

Well, I was going to get on here and tell you how much I enjoyed racing with you guys and that I should try to make some more of these, but evidently this sucks, everything sucks, everyone sucks. Maybe I'll go back to bed?

Had some good runs in the middle there. The front of the field had a habit of starting without the back, so two packs quickly developed. I latched on to Pepe in the second pack and we were going pretty well till we caught up to a car that was just too erratic to be leading a train, and we lost our steam there.

Eventually I worked up far enough to stay with the front pack on a restart. Went from fifth, to fourth, to third, and in the final turn of the final lap slipped under Joja to take second at the checkers, .084 seconds behind Pepe.

Joe, I'm sorry you missed it. It's been a while since we've raced together and I was looking forward to seeing you out there.

I thought the race was really good. Sure, a couple mistakes by human beings, but geez what are you guys expecting from your sim-racing? I get the feeling that not even Jesus himself can make the oval racers happy :-)
