Well the Sports Illustrated curse is still in full effect, Bill can attest :)
Qualy went okay, I gridded 4th, I a descent launch got into 1 and bill spun and 3rd was mine,I got a few runs on David and backed off from trying to make a pass in T1 and I was sucked up in his draft, Tapped him and we both went thru the kitty box and came out un-scathed :) Sry David, I couldn't mount much of an attack on David for the next 15 laps, But then i had Aubrey in my mirrors, i was quicker than him off the corners but he was quicker going in, I had a blast battling you Aubrey, then the attempt to take 3rd from me on lap 24, we touched in T1 and i hit the wall, blew the wing off but limped around in 4th til the end. Who needs wings, They are for sissy's :)

I got one of my better starts in those cars, and ended up leaving David behind out of turn 1. From then on I just tried to beat my best lap, and I was able to do so as my fuel burned away. I only got one 1:34 though, I wanted more but I kept making small mistakes from pushing too hard. Oh well it was pretty fun, and thanks to everyone I lapped, you all did everything you should have done. I'm impressed with how clean the races here are, thanks again.

The BT48 is not terrible on a track like this. Somebody had to carry the torch for Gillespie!

well, i really thought i would of had something for jonathan after last night. in testing last night i could run 1:36 flats with a full thanks and get into the 1:35's as the fuel went down.

I got on track tonight and i couldn't keep the car on the track. I only managed a 1:34.7 in qually, well off what i know i can do. in the race, i got a bad start and that was it, Jonathan was gone. after that, it was just stay on the road, which my car didn't want to do. a big push in to huge power oversteer is not a good combo here. i managed to hold onto second even with the pressure Jeff and Aubrey put on me. some laps i would pull a little bit, other laps i would lose a little bit.

i'm gonaa stick with the Renault for the rest of the season and try to take the title. i hope i will be stronger at long beach.

First lap was a little scary. I saw a Ferrari ahead of me run wide and spin, and the next time we came around there were skid marks all over the back straight.

Pretty awesome race with Jeff there! I was able to keep within about a second of him pretty much the whole time. Got a draft down the front straight a couple times and went wheel to wheel in the T1 section twice. We actually made it through side by side the first time!... but not quite the second time. Not my favorite place to pass, but it was the only place I could get close enough. :)

I have to wonder if we could have beaten David by working together with some NASCAR style bump drafting. :)

Congrats to podium finishers , unfortunately i couldn't get up from bed in time. These 5.30AM (local time) races are a bit tough for me and this time it was too much , just had to get some sleep . Too bad for the points , this was my main series for F1-79 , but RL duties earlier in the day worn me out too much to be able to stay awake :| .

Tough night last night.
Botched qualifying by, like a bone head, going out with 29 laps of fuel. 1st part of race was a thrill working with Ford as we chopped down Dean's lead. Tragically, Ford and myself got together in one of the sweepers and I bent the crap out of the right front wheel. Lap later, lost traction in between the 2 lefthanders and lost the front wing. Got a new wing in the pits but the wheel was cooked. Planned to limp her around and get a finish but ended up launching the car and ending upside down on the roll bar. Interesting view. I guess the lettering on the skin was right side up at that point. Bad night all the way around.

Congrats to finishers and podium. Sorry about the contact Ford; dont really know what happened or whether you were trying to let me by.

After a multi-month career of mostly pick-up racing
this event was a revelation; the patience and professionalism exhibited by the pilots made a welcome change. I'm happy to place 8th,even though my times were a second off practice. C'est la vie. Sometimes, you want to err on the side of caution.

No problem, Joseph. I simply pooched that corner, the increasing size of your ride in the rear view probably spooked me into late braking, lol . Apparently you got the worst of it, the Williams was untouched.

welcome to "more professional" sim racing Peter. unlike pickup races, most of us have been racing with eachother for a long time now, and race with respect of eachother. but we still race eachother very hard. we try hard not to hit eachother, but as they say, "shit happens" :)

welcome to league racing Peter, once you run in a league, you'll never want to run pickup races again.
