Tornado Alley Vintage GT

Well i gave it a shot. i have'nt driven any of these cars in a couple of months. My work schedule should allow me to make most of the Sunday night races. I did'nt really get in any practice in the Jag. i think my main thing is i don't really know how to set up these cars. I am actually still learning how to set up cars for GTR2 peroiod. i would like to say sorry for who ever it was i hit in the corner. thought i was going to get thru clean, but it did'nt happen. even though i did'nt do well i still had fun, thanks for letting me race with you guys.

Sorry about the slightly short race tonight. I noticed around halfway that the lapcount was off. I was running a planned 24-lap 1st stint and actually considered if I might go the distance- I'm almost certain that I could have done it, but figured you guys would wring my neck if I won on a cheap stunt like that, so I pitted on lap 26.

Had some good battling early with Ray, then he slowly but surely pulled ahead after 7 or 8 laps, leaving me as a big blob in Jim's windshield. Jim was just a bit faster through most of the middle of the run, but I made it too hard to pass and he stayed behind me.

Miguel left giant clouds of smoke every lap braking into turn 4, and it finally showed around 20 or so (I think), and we gathered him up. Jim disappeared around the same time, then went into the pits for a really long time.

Having noticed how few laps were remaining, I tried to go without taking tires, but they went and changed my rears anyway(!?) So much for that cheap advantage :) I finished about where I belonged I think, fighting Mike Campbell for 6th.

PHEWWWWWWW...Man that was fun. In practice earlier in the week, I was running 41's and posted something about 38's. LOL I knew I would catch a few people off guard. I found a nice groove here and could late brake the living sh!t out of the lightweight 5 sp jag.
For qual I put int tires on the front and red's onthe rear. I could run like a bat out of H$ll for 2-3 laps then I would loose all grip. I turned a PB and was quite surprised when Mike and Miguel where over a sec off.
Start lights where above my car to the left, so I could only see the silohette of them. Saw Mike M pull off and I tucked in behind with Miguel following. I stayed on Mike's bumper for 2 laps then choose my spot and passed him.
Built up a 20 sec lead. Then bobbled and Mike cut it to 16 and he pitted. I bobbled again and decided to pit. Took way to much gas and tires and came out about 3-4 secs behind Mike M.
Took about 2 laps to catch mike and with the huge nose on the these cars and late braking the crap out of them, I touched Mike's bumper 2 times, sry, and I waited for him to regain and go at the battle again. I was to impatient. Sry again Mike. I finally got Mike a couple of turns before the checkered flag.
WHat sux's is, both my r2p wins are during off seasons LOL

now that was more like it!!! I crept up and up, i think i hit 3rd spot...had some great battles and my pit slowed me down...was confused too cause of the lap counter but i forgot to turn engine off right away, wondered why my pit crew was starring at me...lol not used to pitting...another part of racing i need to learn to do properly.
That was fun guys no more lag...yeee ha!

Michael, with Machwerk can be same story - 3 laps and finish (v1.1, I dont know about v1.3)

Ok, thanks Miguel. I will figure out how many laps we should probably run and switch to fixed laps.

Actually I'm thinking I should just change to fixed laps for every race so this doesn't happen any more.

In April we ran 9 laps of Machwerk. 2X Fuel and Tires. 8 on start, 3 on finish :)

This was my 2nd race with you guys & I had a great time. I was hoping for that extra 7 minutes or so. I was behind Mike & hoping for the best. Lots of fun with the Jag. Class act racing from everyone, thanks.
