Had a terrible time with qualifying so i started 16th

made my way to 5th

brakes failed

Settled in, got a stop / go avoiding a blocked corner, switched to a one stopper, brakes failed.

Bah!

Congrats to my team mate Heinz on a huge F1 victory and a repeat at Monza. Great drive, mate.

Qualifying was tough but started well enough. During the pace lap I absolutely mortified myself (and Jon Weal, I am sure) when I was warming my brakes and wandered into his tire warming weave and lost my front wing. I was thankful to not see anything pop off his car, but I feel bad about it. I always leave space and stuff but I just looked up and you were on the left side of the track so I came in the right side a little to warm my brake and it all just worked up perfectly awful. Sorry mate..

So, I had to go into the pit and start my race with a wing repair and then start about 30 seconds back. Race went really well otherwise for a while as I climbed up to 5th place by the final stint. Before heading into the pit, for some reason my engine was smoking. I'd been using Boost 4 all race with only minimal shots of temp boost along the way and my radiator settings were unchanged from the setup Heinz used. I have no idea why it was smoking because my temps were like 90-100C in the engine and there was no red on the engine in the car diag screen.

Then I get a message from the steward telling me to fix it or park it. Well, I had already just pitted and nothing changed. Not to mention, as soon as I noticed the smoke (before my pit stop), I changed down to Boost 1 to finish the race. I don't know why I was told to park it when I clearly remember that the rules say you may continue your race but be warned that it might end before the finish. So, I just kept racing and decided the Steward could either tell me to get off or the engine dies or I finish in the points finally. I had Dennis Cummings come up behind me for position and I knew the smoke would be unfair to him so I let him through without a fight. I don't know why I would be ordered to park it.

Anyways, with 10 laps to go, the engine just went. That's all she wrote. The fun is all gone from this series for me.

Started 10th worked my way up to 5th and was there until lap 34 when brake failure occured. Cant catch a break in these cars. Great race all.

Seems everyone who was running 5th failed.
I was fifth with Kevin B hounding me with 3 laps to go and I cooked my brakes also.

Strange to see so many brake problems. I ran brake duct at 5 and my brake discs were the biggest available (4) and I had no problem.

I ran with Tim's setup from here, with a bit less wing, no alteration on brakes at all. Not sure what they are set to though.

I qualifyed well 7 or 8th decent start but made some contact with someone and got a cut tire on either lap 1 or 2 so had to pit I also suffered some suspension damage came out in 18th. A few laps later someone who lapped me spun into the 2nd chicane a few seconds ahead of me I hit the curb wrong and went straight into his car. Nothing I could do but cry. I Lost a wing made it around to pit again.

I was thinking about giving up but pressed on and finished 10th.

That is exactly what i did. Except i thought i would be ok to take the duct to 4. I never have had to set the brakes above their normal bounds by CTDP standards but today i could just.. feel the brakes giving out every lap that went by. It was the front left, everything else was 100 percent ok.

Yet another DNF... not my weekend >|

Qual went better than I had expected. I've still yet to really gel with these cars, and despite the fact I was running a comparitively low fuel level with teeny-weeny wings I just couldn't break the 1:20 mark. Enough for fifth on the grid.

Justin, what happened in the warmup lap was a combination of errors. I caught Vikz at an odd moment and had to lift and swerve to my right to avoid slamming into him. Unfortunately that put me into your path and the rest is history. Fortunately for me I got away with minimal damage. Unfortunately for you you lost your wing. It happens.

Race start was great, out-braked Vikz into T1 and set about trying to settle down into a groove. Connor was flying behind me and soon we entered into a kick-ass battle. Starting with banged wheels at the Parabolica we continued to tussle for a good 2 or 3 laps. The high-light of which was when I flicked to the outside of him at the Curve Grande and went down the inside into the 2nd chicane. He countered immediately and was back in front. Very impressive driving mate. Unfortunately I lost his draft when I got caught up lapping David Carney.

I was pushing hard to catch back up when I dropped it into the 2nd chicane a number of laps later. This wouldn't have been the end of the world because I was immediately in a position to get back on the track... unfortunately, David Carney performed an identical spin and hit me head on. I lost my wings.

Came out of the pits behind Brian Fairley and after catching him fairly quickly I tried a carbon copy of my move on Connor. I got through, but after running a couple of feet wide Brian tried to come back at me. Unfortunately, this pitched me into a comical barrel-roll. The car stalled while in the air and that was my race cooked. Cheers for your mail Brian, I don't blame you at all for the accident, it was a freak occurance. We were racing hard and these things happen.

I can't believe my luck at times.
