Zolder Enduro

This was boring.

Qual was wet and since i like it that kinda weather, i qualified real good, getting 3rd position even among GT cars. ;)

Stint 1 was good, but in stint 2 i was trying to drive way to slow so i made a lot of mistakes. I find it hard to drive slowly :) At the end i made a mistake and drove to gravel which would be OK if a 575 wouldnt do the same mistake as me. He went to gravel also exactly behind my path, i suspect there was oil on that corner. ;) Well... that meant my tire was blown and i had no rear wing.

But since i could finish that lap i still got 2nd only to Joco, since he could do another lap that my car really didnt wanna do.

Nice twist at the end eh ... :P

Was surprized to see it wet qualifying, my goal was to get some kinda lap so I wouldnt start at the back. Its awful hard to pass here for me for some reason.

Started behind David Brown, and had a great first stint, trying to catch him. Was going to pace myself but saw. Claudiu closing in. I decided to put the presure early on David, but he responded with faster laps. After awhile Claudiu fell behind never to be seen again. With Joco and Janko, pulling away fast, I figure my race was between me and David.

After the GT cars came around I started loosing ground letting them by as quickly as I could. One lamborghini was lost as he would pass me then get really slow in the chicanes allowing me to pass him back. This went on for awhile and I started to get pissed as david got farther and farther away. Finially I was able to catch back up, only to see the same lamborghini slam david into the gravel. David only lost 5 seconds but I'm sure he wasnt happy. Seeing as how the race was going, I decided to take new tires even though one set would have lasted were I took medium medium, but the medium on the front were not performing good in the cold temps, so I took Soft front medium hard.

I managed to get by david again while he was pitting and opened up a 17 second gap. With better tires, aslong as I kept out of the sand I figured I'd maintain my spot.

I dont understand how someone can finish ahead of you with a DNF but whatever.

Was a great race, and decent finish after getting 3 DNFs in a row last week.

Frustration again as my game crashed with about 10 mins to go.

Having made a mistake in qualifying and puncturing a tyre, I had to start P28. So I was quite happy to be running 10th overall after 95 mins.

Also my GTR2XD played up afetr 15 laps, so I couldn't make much of the info being displayed.

Hope I didn't hold the faster guys up to much, I tried to keep out the way. Fun nontheless.

upsss, I made a third pit stop in last lap. I put 40 liters in my second stop but when I calculated this amount I made a stupid failure: I forget the 10min between my 1st stop and the race half

Wow I met Michael Jackson on the track lol! :)

Why am I saying this? Well because this race was pretty darn boring...

At about 20min left to qualify I had some visitors, and(luckily :P) they left just a few minutes later as the qual got going hehe. Anyways I had my race set on, made no test for qual so all I did was lower the fuel load and change tires. There was always a car infront of me so I couldn't make a fair lap. Still got 2nd which is not bad considering who was on the pole anyways.

I was pretty nervous on the start to be honest. Last two races here were obviously crap for me so I knew I better use my brain! With no surprise Janko had a real quick pace in first stint, and I was a bit rusty due to total lack of practice. There were alot of GTs passing by and even more nGTs I had to overtake so that made it a little less boring, else those 2 hours would really last long. I noticed I was slowly cutting the gap towards Janko so I thought he's probably just driving conservative but I guess boredom was even tougher for him, since he made that mistake at the end... What happened from my point of view is that I saw a 996RSR, rolling right onto my path on turn 1 exit. I did crash in it, obviously it was really hard to avoid, and luckily I didn't kill my Porksta. Then I press TAB to see who that was and hey, it said J Glavac lol. I thought somebody knocked him out but he made the mistake by himself pretty much I guess. Well, after that I knew the win is mine...

Got back from holiday today and jumped in, got half an hour track time and started to love this track :)

Luckily i got a message to join just in time :)

So with no running and setup i qualified 3rd in class and 10th from 29 runners :) in really slippy conditions, bolted soft wets on - had loads of rear grip but nothing on the front :P pretty happy considering...

Race was a great scrap between me and Aaron, he stuck with me for a good 40 mins then as he mentioned i got knocked into the gravel at turn 2 after me even flashing to give Nuno in the GT car the nod to pass me, not sure wether he lost it and tapped me but i got pushed into the gravel (need to view replay before i point my finger) a bit gutted as we were having a cracking battle and didn`t see any reason it wouldn`t have gone on for 2 hrs as we were both making no mistakes and pushing hard - have to say i was a bit disapointed at the quality of some of the GT drivers, maybe best to learn in a slower car like i am? not aimed at Nuno btw :P

Had 1 silly off later on whilst moving out the way for a leading car in the 90min mark which put an end to my podium challenge, and overfueling by 20L didn`t help :P

Other than the 2 mentioned above i drove a perfect race and happy to pull 4th for the team :)

Really gonna spend my time to do some damage in races from now on :)

Just happy my connection didn`t fail this time.......

Qualifyed 5th for this one although could've been higher as on last lap before we went to race I was up .5 second on my best lap,nearly at finish line then the server changed to warm up.......doh
Started off without any problems & just concentrated on keeping out of any incidents on track.Both of my pitstops went off without a problem & then found myself in 4th after spending a big part of the race in 2nd...hmmmm I was then starting to think I'd screwed up my strategy.Luckily with about 10 minutes to go I came upon 3rd place who was struggling a bit with tyres & got passed,unfortunately in the move I clipped him & pushed him wide,I have apologised,so finished up in 3rd.Cya all next time.

Two hours are long and didn't even go through half. It's a shame it was a wet qualifying cause I went with soft wets for that session and it was a wrong decision. I could improve it by mile, but the combination of hot tyres and slower traffic was a block for that. Anyway I got to the end of the field. I hit somebody on a formation lap, sometimes these cars stop soooo fast you can't even say sh*t in that time.
I went with full tank and hard tyres for the race. The tyres never reached the desired temperature, I think it would be better if I used meds. I had a hard time with some guys infront I couldn't pass, but the most pain in the back were the GT lappers. Man they were coming every lap starting from lap 5 :) . Sometimes it's hard to tell what they want, and some of them wanted too much. Sorry for those, but I will never wait for a lapper who can't reach me throught the 2/3 of a straight, you will just have to wait.
On the chicane I hit David Luzza, sorry David I waited for you after that. You can go 50km/h faster easily through there ;)
I ended the race prematurely when I hit ESC trying to reach for ¸ (tilde, the button left of 1) blindly, turning off my MOTec page doing so. Pitty, in 30 laps time i would pit and went for meds, and I am sure i would overtake somebody doing that.

Congrats to podiums, and for Joco and Janko I suggest u start from the back and wait at the beggining untill the first car laps a lap. :)

Put plenty of practice into this event and the server always came up with the usual basic track temps rising to the likes of 27 degrees. Went on server an hour before race and track temps up in 37's. It was like driving on ice for me, and I lost a lot of confidence in my set up.

Come qualifying the track was wet and I gambled wrong on intermediates - they just never came up to temperature (from memory the highest was the rears in the low 50's). So P26 it was out of 29 cars (and 16th and last but one of the 17 nGT's). Warm up was super cold out there - but strange thing was I felt I could drive better in those conditions. Same conditions for the race.

On the warm up I got shunted in the rear by one of the GT's when the field came to a stop across the track. Made my way back up to P26 to take the rolling start.

Car felt OK but I didn't seem with it consistency wise. Starting two places off the last position, I'd decided to fill up with 100 litres (good enough for 49/50 laps before first stop) and I assume that alone caused some issues when unable to get near others to challenge. I was losing time behind others / when the GT's came by (so early too).

A few cars went off ahead of me in the first few laps which meant I was up to P23 in the end I think (not helped by a couple of excursions myself when concentrating on my mirrors rather than where I was going!!).

I agree with others comments that there were a few GT's not willing to wait and trying to outbrake into a corner when looking in the mirror on the straight they were not near enough. Recipe for trouble that one.

All but front right tyre came up to temp (Med rears, soft fronts). Even with the heavy fuel on a clear run I was doing mid 37's, but letting GT's by / stuck behind others I was in the 1m40's quite a few times.

Then on lap 21, my connection went slow, screen went black - then game minimised and a Hewlett Packard Printer update available message came up! I could hear the car in the background (of course didn't know where I was), tried to re-open game but it crashed to desktop with error message. Needless to say I've now removed that very rare auto update - lol. I was a bit miffed last night when that happened, but lesson learned for future races to disable auto update items. Will never know how my strategy would have worked out now.

Q: I couldn't get a clean lap, but that wa snot the problem,the problem was that I tried the "Intermediate" and I just kept sliding, so I forfeited the last 2 laps...

R: I had fun passing the GT's, but I was surprised at Janko's pace as I couldn't catch him for the first 10 minutes...I had to make 2 pitstops, because my fuel strategy did not pay off as I thought it would...With 20 minutes to go I had to pit and take some fuel out, (BTW... Ihate GTR-2's menu system) so that cost me about 5 secs...So, I come out in 8th. place with 20 secs. ehind Janko, which I pushed for the next 15 laps taking off 2 secs. per lap and with 4 to go I caught up with him and he made it easy for me by slowing down and letting me pass, but I was wrong there was the leader passing us...:P...

Anyways, the race for me was fun as I had to catch lots of guys in order to compensate for the bad qualy... As usual, I set my PB with one lap to go in Lap 75...
