GTC-East Oschersleben

That was a race with 2 faces. First stint was great. I was cruising in 4th with no (lagging) problems at all. After the first stop, where I only changed fronts the laggingproblems began. Must be me on the other side of the pond but I had 3 crashes because of cars lagging in front of me. As soon as I got at about 2 seconds the problems began. So in the end I just backed off to stay out of trouble and bring the car home. But it should have been must better than the 7th I got now. But ... there will be other races. :-)

well i messed up both pit stops on lap 20 and lap 21clicked front tires ..didnt scroll for new [pressed enter].. lap 21 pitted -rear tires didnt scroll [pressed enter]
same tires [med slicks ] whole event .. ... my bad - thanks for staying clean all!

edit - went back to game and checked to see what i did wronge ....actually got 4 new tires each pit ,,, [mass cuss words]... good racen all - lol im learning

Damn Tough race !! Made a mistake at T1 first lap after George went a bit deep and was understeering toward the gravel, i tried to drive round the outside but got a bit of understeer myself lol and went off on the grass, then had to try and rejoin track hope i didnt get in anyones way there.

Had some hard racing then with D Morisette and as soon as i pass him i then go and run into Davey Banta, so sorry about that. i pulled over to wait for him but it seemed like he was having trouble getting out of the gravel/sand so i drove on.

Chasing the meullers, nearly passed bill before he pitted but i didnt realize that he was going to give me room and messed it up by backing out of the pass, then had a hard battle with John Meuller and as ever its tough to pull alongside him to catch him under braking, but he pitted and i had open road. Pitted myself shortly after and as i rejoin track John flys by and we continued where we left off lol, him infront and me chasing.

A few laps from the end i was lapping some people and as i got close to one of them, think it was JT Edwards his car lagged for a second or so in the middle of T2, had nowhere to go but run into it, which put me in the sand.

i had a great race. everyone ran clean, and i had no contact the entire race. kudos to everyone on the good driving.

i started off well, but had an off pushing my cold tires that dropped me back to 14th. then just before pitting, i pushed worn tires too hard and ended up dead last.

hit the pits, change out back on track, and had an uneventful stint. i did make up some time on that one, so that when i pitted the last time on lap 36, i came out in 16th. as the rest of the cars pitted, i ended up picking up one spot from someone with worn tires.

the last session was a bit more hectic, with several faster cars lapping, and some close racing with someone who's name i missed. finished in 15th. not bad for a broke foot and torn cartilage in both knees :).

to mark, all i saw was you suddenly stop and go sailing. i wondered what happened. never hit me though.

i really enjoyed the race. it was my first in this series, and first time in the gtr, and i look forward to the next one. fun car and good racing.

Decided to try something diferent and took soft front tires and medium rears , planning to come in on laps 13 and 27.

Qualified 2nd and settled behind Kent in opening laps , but i allready noticed that my laptimes weren'a any better than with mediums all around and overall i didn't like the handling of my car. Nothing i could do anymore , since i had so little front camber that changing to meds on next stop would have been disasterous.

Car felt a little better on 2nd stint with less fuel onboard , but the laptimes were still a bit modest and while Kent was going for doublepit and he was at the same speed , things were pretty much decided allready.

I was driving my nuts off , but the car was just too restless to make any real progress. Joined back to track after my 2nd stop and i was about 6-7 secs behind Kent with 14 laps to go , but i couldn't reel him in anymore.

Gap went down but so did my tires at the end and Kent had an easy job to bringing the car home in 1st place , nice 1-2 finish for the team anyway and i'm glad that i got the 2nd place after my experiment.

Have to say that i didn't like the '2 x 4 tires' strategy , but then again my driving wasn't very good either :|.

Grats to Kent for the win , looking good for the championship :). I got your back covered mate , just incase you would have run into somekind of problems ;) .

I had some warping issues too but i thought it was because of my own connection problems , then i saw that George P had similar probs than me.
Near the other cars they started to act a bit weird , nothing major but few times when i was following Kent pretty close , there were some ghost cars dropping behind him and i had to make some quick moves to avoid them.

Glad to finish the race anyway and didn't actually hit any of the warps or ghosts.

I decided on a different pit strategy to the previous race[there i changed all 4 both stops].This time i decided to use hards on the rear and go with only the front change in the 1st stint and then put all mediums on the next stop.Bad idea,4laps after the 1st pit,the rears went off suddenly,so no option but to pit way early for a full set of mediums and never really settled back into rythme.

ps,JT Edwards got past me into t1 at the start and seemed to be warping/lagging and was glad to get by him.I had no lagging fron any other.

I just want to thank everybody for a good clean race. My pit stradegy changed quickly when my tires melted off the wheels on lap 14! So much for the back to back stops taking on two tires each time.

This was my best finish and first top 10. Thanks and congrats to all you really fast guys....Tommy

Well, let me start by saying i forgot all about GTR's grossly slow pitstops. because of this horrible oversight by me, i completely messed my race up before it even began. The punt i got in the last turn just added insult to the injury i was about to recieve in the pits. of course i was not too happy at first.

after the punt, my race was one big mistake after another, especially when i took only two fronts at my first pits stop. i had to make my second stop only a few laps later for 4 freash tires and made sure i had enough fuel to get to the end. don't try going 21 laps on soft tires, doesn't work too well.

in the end, the punt in the last turn really didn't make a difference, it was more a precurser to what was to come. apoligy accepted.

Had a nice qual lap on my second lap, just as the doorbell rang bringing pizza for dinner :) Since my lap was pretty good for me I decided to eat before it got cold. Turns out it was fast enough for pole.

Got a pretty decent start, I could hear Krueger nearby but figured I got a jump on him, watching the replay I see it was actually pretty close but he graciously dropped in behind me. Just like out last race we pretty much had the same pace and I was concerned because Krueger is real good on old tires. So I was very surprised to see him pitting early. I was guessing he was trying the 4 tire strategy so I felt pretty good about my chances, even tho my laps times were dropping off a bit.

I back to back pitted laps 19-20 and rejoined in 6th right behind 5th. It took me about 2 laps to get by John Mueller ? and after I passed he pitted. Then after I passed for 4th John was in front again? Maybe Bill was in there somewhere can't remember. Finally the last 2 guys pitted and I had the lead again with about 6 seconds back to Krueger.

The rest of the race I was just trying to be consistant while Krueger ws taking little bit out of my lead with his fresher tires. With 2 to go he had it down to about 3 seconds and I kinda took it safe that last 2 laps which allowed him to get closer. In the end I had all I needed to take the win.
