ASP GT pedals 1 hour of Vanport

Argh...Lost 5th. place with 3 mins. to go...I cooked the tires and with 1 min. to go I got a flat tire, I came to pits and was able to salvage a Top 10...Congrats Chris!

J.Gorder. was hard to pass, zig-zagging everytime I was trying to pass him and early in the race we touched. Later in the race I lost about 15 secs. to Mike because I was not able to pass JG, but it was fun until minute 57" when I blew a tire... :D

This race proves once again that I am my own worst enemy. Top3 was in my grasp but I had to screw up...multiple times. Seriously - I have a focus ability of a god damn fog :/

Sorry to lapped drivers for risky overtaking manouvers - most of them were caused by my misjudgment - I just wasn't expecting you'd be braking so much and so early.
In one of such situations I punted Doug - sorry man - I was completely surprised by how hard you broke, but this punt is still 100% my fault.
It's just that after spending most of past weeks in F1 races I'm not used to the fact that there are slower drivers than me on the track :)

All in all pretty exciting race - had lot's of battles throught whole distance with great fight with Mike for 4th pos in the end.

Well, well... Interesting race.

Qualy:

Ended up in a battle with Tomasz for fourth. I had it, then he had it, then I had it. I was pretty pleased with fourth.

Race:

Fun and Interesting... and then... :-(

First lap went well, I didn't want to try anything extreme for a pass so I held back a bit. Somehow the leaders ended up catching someone on lap one or two??

Things were going pretty well, I was chasing Jon and it was clear I wasn't going to catch him until we came on the back of the field. Going onto the back straight, Jon go held up unintentionally by my brother and I got by, but I let Jon back as I didn't think I should gain the position in that manner. I dropped in behind Jon and tried to stay with him. It was clear he was faster, but he made a mistake in the twisty bits after the Festival Turns and I was close behind again. Another mistake and I was by him. He was still faster, but I thought I would stay out until either:
1. My pit window opened on lap 32
2. Jon got by me.
3. My tires became totally toasted.

Jon and I came up on my brother in the final turn and he slowed where I didn't expect it, and I hit him and Jon hit me. I figured this was my signal to pit. :-)

I pitted and when I came out Jon was about 4-5 seconds ahead of me. I tried to catch him, and I think I was making a little progress, having cut the gap to about 3-4 seconds(?) when I crossed the start/finish...

and rFactor crashed. :-( :-( :-(

It was a great race guys, really. I just with I could have finished properly.

And congratulations to my brother Jim who got a Top-Ten finish in his *First ever* online sim race!

Yes I ran STOCK tires also and they were fine for a 1 stop strategy.

I would like to congratulate my teammate Dennis Cummings for a great result today and all the lapped cars for giving me plenty of room when I was passing. Great job everyone!

I ran STOCK too, but I pushed too much and cooked them...

2 Drivers DQ'd for wrong motor in car

Circumstances dictated that I really needed to push hard in this event. In the early stages I was all over the rear of Dennis until we hit traffic and he was able to gap me. Unfortunately driving so aggresively meant that I was always on the verge of making mistakes. It also meant that I would catch lapped cars at inoppertune moments and because I was in a race against time I would have to go for moves that were sometimes a little too close for comfort. In the end I was quite pleased to come home third, it was extremely hard work!

Had some nice little scraps with William at various points. Good racing mate.

I got caught a couple of times quite badly by Jim Gorder, having now read the post race and learning that it was Jim's first event I have to say that he didn't do too bad a job. My only critisim or rather advice would be to try to remain a little calmer and less erratic when a leader catches you.
