1 hour of Longbeach

Qualifying went well, got joint second fastest time so started 3rd, then switched to my race setup which was where it all went wrong, as this had stock tyres and apparently the soft was the one to be on. Spent the first few laps holding people up then spun, then it got worse so came in early to put on the softer tyres which helped me get back towards the top ten but kept spinning and hitting the wall which didnt help my cause all the way till the end so I finished 14th.

Qualifying not so good, should have qualified on my race setup as that was more stable.
Race went much better. Started with full fuel, but took a little while to get into a rhythm. Had a good race with Dan O for a number of laps and was holding 7th without too much trouble. I had one spin with no damage but lost a couple of spots. The soft tires, while showing wear, are just as fast at the end of a fuel run as at the beginning for me, so it was easy to run a full fuel run. Pitted in 3rd and came out in 8th.
I was watching the interval to Dennis behind me and had slight brain fade and had to use the escape road at the end of the back straight as Dennis motored by. I was able to eventually catch Dennis and we had a great battle for 8 or 10 laps. Never more than a couple of car lengths apart. Great fun.
For a "novice" race, the competition is pretty fast and intense.

With my thought put into get a +2 rank i did a conservative
race at the beginning, when started to get into pace with
the top ten as my goal i hit the wall when a yellow flag was shown in one of the last corners, lost rear wing, big spin on start/finish line and a whole lap to go to pits to repair.

...at the end 13th and a rank under the requirements... :(

amazing race anyway, leaders laping without trouble and fair play all over the place.

Had a fantastic battle with Sam Moss all the way through the race. It almost got thrown away on two ocassions. The first was when I had brain fade comming off the back straight and over shot the braking zone and the second was when I had brain fade heading down towards T1 not long after the pitstops. For some reason I had phased out and when I came to I thought I was at my braking point, as it transpired the white lines I was aiming at actually appear twice and I had slammed on too early. Sam hit me up the back very hard but fortunately we were both able to carry on. Sorry dude. I MUST LEARN TO FOCUS!!!

Qualifying was difficult because I couldn't find any rythm. I had another 2/3 tenths available in my lines and setup but it just wouldn't come. Looking at my lap times in the race I was also a bit slower than I had been all week in preparing for this event. Bit of a head scratcher, you would think I'd have run quicker considering the proximity of Sam up my chuff! Anyway, I'm happy to take the pole, victory and lap record at this viciously difficult circuit. Looking forward to round 2!

Good racing all round and good work by the lapped cars on a difficult circuit to make room!

Very disappointed I spent so much time spinning and crashing to do much good on my home track. I had a pretty good race pace, but just couldn't keep from screwing up. As the car received more damage, it made it just that much harder to stay in control. The car was very loose so was a handful if too much throttle was used exiting corners.

I did have some fun laps with Ralph, wish I could have hung in there with you pal, you were just way to consistent for me to keep up.

I think my teammate Tommy had his share of troubles as he finished a half minute ahead of me. I hope Team Snail Trail can make a better showing next time.

Qualifying went well. 4th place with lots of traffic in the track was much better than i expected before the results. I knew that I had great race setups so I was looking for podium.

The race began as I was hoping for. Got the third position during first few laps and took a safe gap between the others behind me. Couple of mistakes after that but I managed to keep the gap over 3secs. Just when I was getting my driving stable, my game crashed and I had to restart my computer. Sad thing as this one slammed my rank down so i couldn't sign up for the ELMS event.

However, I was full of sweat after that incident which means that we had some great racing out there! Congrats podium and see you next time.

Congrats to Jon and the podium. Way too fast for me. Honestly I underestimated the level of competition in this series. For a novice series everyone drove so well. Great job to all.
I had a poor qualifying. I caught traffic at the wrong spots and when I did get a good lap I overshot the hairpin.
Race went better. I was able to make up a few spots when a few drivers had issues. Overall everyone drove very clean and it was a fun race. I will need to find some pace to be closer to the front. Thanks for the help with the setup Jon.

This was a great race! I had a-lot of fun in my first fabcar race despite finishing last. The last 15 min or so there was alot of position changes for the last 3 of us. GoodTimes

My biggest problem is inconstancy, I spent to much time going sideways and at around midpoint spun at T1 and ended up facing the wrong way on the little island to the left,I couldnt see anything just a very bad place to be, i bet i lost an easy 30s, i also did a one stop on stocks, i need more work with worn tires, i wish i could bolt on some used ones lol

JonW. thanks for the setup, it helped out alot, i made some minor changes, but it did help me be more constant than the setup i had even thought i was a little slower. Congrats again Jon
