GTX Zhuhai

I decided not to bother qualifying so to start at the back. After a recent run of bad luck I have motivational problems, so getting involved in some racing seemed a good idea. I had a really good run through the first half of the race, getting up to 4th before the pit stops. I entered the pits and as soon as I stopped I pressed enter, as I knew I needed a full tank. What happens? AI takes over and drives me out of the pits without taking any fuel on. Somehow, but I dont see how, I must have changed driver. So AI drives half a lap before running out of fuel. Nothing I could do!

Do DNF number 4 on the run, and non of them my fault. Shame this one because I was looking on for a decent result.

Running a comfortable 4th, then engine blew. Temps were good & I wasn't pushing it, so just one of those things I guess. Only the 2nd motor I've ever lost, so I guess I was due one.

LA LA LA I don't care what the results say - Porkster OWNED the track today. :)

that was a fun race, i had very few mistakes surprisingly. sorry to the guy i got into on the 1st lap. i had major brake lockup. i felt so bad

I was happy with 6th in quali but at the start Dennis hardly moved when the lights went green. What happend there Dennis? So I was a bit stuck for the first few meters which made me come out of T1 (Yessss!!! made it this time) in 9th place. JD was going through the field like a warm knife through butter and eventually I got a bit stuck behind Enis. Had two spins and when I reached his bumper for the 3rd time he let me by quit easy. Pitsstop was ok and after that it was pretty uneventfull. But I like just doing my laps and bringing the car home. That eventually was in 4th. Not bad at all. Grats to Tolga on the win and to Nuno and Dennis for getting on the podium as well.

And last but not least .... congratulations Tolga on winning this championship. I'll have a beer on that!

Dang it! I lost connetion with the lobby about 5 seconds before the start. I was looking forward to this. I'll be back.

The final race of this series turned out to be my best. I qualified 4th and when the dust settled I grabbed my only podium of this series with a 3rd place finish.
Race starts have been tough on me, usually through my own mistakes, so I wanted to make sure I made it through lap 1 cleanly. When the lights went green and I dropped the clutch I had nowhere to go as Nuno took a moment or two to get moving. I didn't want to go into T1 in the middle of a 3 wide situation, so I lifted a bit and followed Nuno through the first turns.
The rest of the race went smooth, I didn't make any serious mistakes and passed and outlasted enough people for a pretty good finish.
This was a tough series and a lot of fun. The start times for S5 will prevent me from being able to race the euro series next season. So best of luck guys.

Quali:
Wasn't very good, needed to take a leak when quali started, that lost me around 2 mins, and then lost some 2 mins more letting all the cars through. low 29 or high 28 was possible, but 1:29.7 wasn't so bad.

Race:
I soon realized that no practice in combination with Viper wasn't very good. Took me some 20 or so laps to get comfortable in a car, although I was never really comfortable.

George lost aroun 10 sec behind me, so I let him through 3rd time he gained on me.

2nd stint was nightmare really, as I realized I might be short on fuel. 2nd race in a row. D'OH. Drove stint with conserving fuel, which made car pretty hard to drive in the end as tire temps dropped significantly.

I'll take 5th, thanks.

as for my race...

decided to run a 575 in a race for the first time, having always avoided it due to the lack of MoTec data in cockpit. but as i look forward to S5, i've been trying to find cars that don't require as much work to find a comfortable setup and this one seemed to fit me. having driven a lot of laps on this track gave me the confidence to go with it.

but there was trouble from the green lights. Roman Jamsek hit Michael Chriss' phantom car, i hit Roman, Robert Devine slammed into me, etc. just one of those things real life racers don't have to deal with, but we have to accept as a hazard of GTR2.

i got away from this pile up fairly quickly in my slightly shorter 575, however, and got on with what turned out to be a very sloppy race. i made a lot of mistakes that cost positions. most of these were due to overdriving the car, going too deep into the corners and locking the brakes, etc. things i'm hoping a bit more experience will help me overcome.

had a lot of good racing with several drivers throughout the race and it all made for a very fun R2P outing.

My 2nd race since I joined (in fact, my 2nd in 5 years) and confirmation that I am indeed SLOW. However, I had a load of fun. Started 17th but got up to 13th quickly by luckily avoiding the start line mess. Got caught up in a jam at turn 5
and got tapped from behind, sticking me in the gravel. From then on, I was slow but steady. Had a great race with Barrett for about 15 laps until I (again) got lucky and he made a small error. He stayed close until the end but I managed to stay ahead. Great fun and some great driving from the boys at the front. All in all, happy with my 8th.
