GT3: Anderstorp

Had fun trying to harass Pete for alot of the race, I just dropped off the pace a bit in the middle. Came back at the end though and then got past with a sneaky move when Pete had trouble with a backmarker. Then I came up behind 2 cars going very slowly and I was slow to make a decision where to go, Pete just shot round the outside (probably with a big grin on his face and giving me the finger!) That was that, I had nothing for him in a fair fight so I was back to just trying to hang on again until the finish.
Grats to the podium, looks like it was a good close battle for the win.

It would appear i have been bumped down in the results. I am guessing this is because me and boyd had the bump which sent him into gravel lap 1 and i didn't do my drive through? If so i don't see the point in this, i waited for him and the time i waited would have been easily a drive through length, at least i was sportsmanlike and waited.. Ok rules and rules and fair enough, but i think it takes it abit far no?

Also sorry to Steve when overtaking you and the other guy (can't remember who, think it was Tom), i went up inside of guy just infront but it sure as hell didn't want to stop and i think i hit you out of way.. i didn't feel a hit because gtr2's netcode is so good with the juddering cars on the corners..

It was nice to push and come back from 19th to 9th, just a shame it got took away..

2 bad I could not join the race and sorry that I did not unregistred. I dit not know that a girl coult spent 2 hours finding the right slippers ;). I hope that one mistake will not bann me from other R2P races :(

But anyway. I hope to see some of you in the Anderstorp Open in 2 days.

One driver penalized a lap for not serving mandatory drive-thru for a first lap punt.

PS - Sam, the policy is clear there are no exceptions. It must be served no matter what.

And Sam, hard luck about the penalty, these things happen, no grudges here.
I entered at the last minute, since I'm not a big fan of GT3 or Anderstorp for that matta, but I saw an open slot, had time and thought I'd give it a bash.
Basically went ok, but incomplete setup, slow driving and wrong tyre choice resulting in a coupla spins and that as that. Aplogies to Claus and Ari for the spin right in front of you, hope it didn't spoil your dice. I was trying furiously to find reverse and get the heck outta the way, but I was too slow ...
Will have to put in some serious hours with the GT3 and make friends with it ...

Well did a 1m33.6 in qualy my pb so happy with that considering the nerves :P some really quick guys out there ! congrats to Ari for a stunning lap !

Race start was good, drove down the outside of T1 to avoid trouble - ended up chasing Steve Davis for the first third of the race.. tried to apply pressure without doing anything silly, and i finally managed to pull it off going into T2 i tried the dummy a few laps and then just managed to get alongside and made it stick on the outside :D i had to do something soon as Garret was homing in on us whilst we were battling. Then came another chance when i passed a frantic Heinz reversing back onto the circuit (almost clipped me) then he caught me and i fought to keep him there for probably another 10 mins and luckily held it after a tap on me at the final corner then the following lap he had an off and lost a bit too much time to regain.
Then it was a case of keeping it on the black stuff to the finish, finished with 1 litre of fuel :O

Overall happy with 6th given the quality of the grid!! i drove faultless - slowly getting to grips with GTR and just need to find another 0.5 - 1s and then i can be a real pain in the arse ;)

Oh - to keep to my word, if anyone is in the Liverpool area i think i owe a drink to the finishers :P offer ends midnight :P

Young Mr Moss is somewhat missing the point by a mile or so.

I got a great lap in qual. Nothing more to say.

In the start I missed the green slightly but I kept the lead in T1. However it seems that Claus was running with a really low rear wing, so he got past me in T2. For the rest of the race I was doing all I could to try to pass him, and I had more speed in reserve, but Claus never made a big enough error for me to take advantage of.

Yer great qual lap Ari, my setup didn't work very well for a flyer, balance was screwed with soft fronts, but I knew it was pretty good in race in terms of laptimes, altho bit nervous so had to work the car hard at times.
Got a good start, but outside into T1 never works on cold tires so I backed of abit and tried to get a better run down the strait. Yer I had a pretty low wing, and I figured it was now or never or Ari would prolly just sail away so went for it on the outside into T2, and knowing Ari as a great sportsman I knew he would leave enough space and not run wide into me. Had it been Joco I'd prolly think twice there hahaha sorry couldnt help it Joco :D nice pic tho
After that was pretty even steven for the rest of the race, I was faster on the strait and Ari had the edge in the banking, but I knew if did it tight and neat and drive without mistakes I could keep the lead. Couple of laps before the end it got close once or twice, but not that close unless a do-or-die move.
Then bit of drama 3 laps to go, a car just spun in front of me before the bridge... quick decision and went right and out in the grass, Ari went the other way but wasn't so lucky but clipped the car abit, but only half a second innit, but atleast it gave a bit more room for dealing with small correction should they appear the last laps.
