GT4: Birmingham

I like Birmingham track a lot and these little screamers are quite fun to race. Grats to podium finishers.

The race was quite fun, although I had some big problems during the race. I would like to apologize to Anthony who couldn't avoid me when I spun off the track and got thrown back on it thanks to the tire wall.

After that I had to pit and that took 95+ seconds, I carried on with the car and it didnt feel too bad seeing the amount of damage I had. But I had to let all the lapping cars go by and that wasn't nice.

Congratulations to the winners and the rest of the Phoenix team.

Don`t like the track, and to make it worse ended up making a stable setup into a slippy tyre eating frenzy :P

Qualified much better than i had dreamed of... 0.4 faster than i`d previously done, but only due to a late pitstop as softs were heating up too quick, slammed mediums on and popped into 6th - 0.003 in front of my teamie on the dying seconds :P

Race start was good, had to avoid a slow starter in front of me (Tim ?) and then as i was battling at T2 i had Tim on the inside and as i left him room i touched Nelson my other teamie and he lost a few positions on the start after a very promising Qualy :(

Drove like i was on rims, trying not to lose it most of the race due to high tyre temps (med fronts + hard rears)

Run in 5th for most of the race until i lost the back end going over the crest going into turn 2 right-hander and lost a position to Micheal Virt - who was keeping me honest ;)

Well, that was fun. It has been a while since I ran an Elise race and with nothing better to do this afternoon I jumped in just before qualifying. I use my old Barcelona setup with only a few clicks of rear wing to stabilize the rear cresting the hills. Beyond that, she drove like mad.

Didnt have a great start with a car going under me at T1. I left a little room, but not much as we were then 3 wide. I figured I'd finish the race right about there, 5th or so, but after a few laps I had been able to pass Johan and Tom and was slowly chasing down Yoco. He ran wide in T2 and I was able to slip under him to steal the line. Then I half-spun giving the lead back to Yoco who returned the favor a few laps after by spinning in the same place.

From there I tried to cruise home, but the car was aweful in cruise mode. Just pushed like crazy... so I stepped it back up to keep the car rotating around the corners and made it to the checkered.

Ha! Fastest lap of the race @ 58.0 to beat Yoco's qual time and steal the track record too :-)

Didn't know what happened to the Birm that I have cause I played it last season or so.
Anyway nice fights at the back but spun it a few times.
Maybe if I'm awake I'll join the US race :D

Well I was never up to alien pace in these cars, plus this track is not really my favourite but anyway I had fun and great racing from Tim's side(hey, you still didn't overtake me from the OUTSIDE! :P). I made a few mistakes as well and without making that spin I'd probably win but as I said, I don't really care and our team is leading nicely in the championship points now as well.

Made a good start, making a few positions on my first lap. Up to p7 at one point, with quite a gap behind me. But my pace was not good enough to hold onto it. Lost one position pretty quickly. Then we were approaching the end of the race, and the guys behind were catching me. One more got past, and then ther were 2 cars right on my tail. One managed to get past, but the spin at the chicanes, giving me 9th back. I was then able to hold onto 9th by a few hundreths on the line. Great fun!!
