IRL: Watkins Glen

One thing to avoid when racing is to have your wife come downstairs in the basement & grab you by the balls. This was my excuse on lap 3 - total concentration disorder. After that incident, racing was no longer a priority in my mind - hope she visits her mom next race though.

LOL at least she still grabs them. Was a good race and my poor pit strad got the best of me.

With the exception of Mike's incident,
I had a clean race. The good thing that came from the incident is that I was not concerned with fuel.

As for my race, well started in the back and was going to try to cut Scott's tires but he got away from me too quick. I came out of the first turn and there was a car there so I made a move to miss him and well spun the thing and into the wall I went. It tore off both my wings and messed up my suspension. I tried to get back to the pits but when I picked up any kind of speed it would spin out on me. After a few times trying I finally exited out. I guess that is what I get for trying to cut Scott's tires at the start. Oh well I had a lot of fun watching.

Team orders dictated that all Team Zacharyshope had to finish in order, thanks to Garry and Paul for ensuring that this order was filled ;)

I hardly practiced for this event, drove very slowly simply because my going a tad faster would simply result in me spinning... I will try to figure out how to drive these cars before next road race

My best finish in this series. So needless to say I am very happy. I almost bailed out of the series because I was not doing too well. I have to say I like these cars in the road courses better than the ovals. So a good race for me, a couple of spin outs but gentle enough not to hit any walls and no damage. The car was undamaged the whole race. I was as high as 7th at one point but lost places due to my last pit stop. So I am wondering what tires/pit strategies did others run? I was on med tires with 2 stops. Was doing great till the 2nd stop where i lost 3 spots. Did others do hard tires with 1 stop?

Scott B, great racing. Was with you for most of the race till the end. Had fun following, I thought I was a little faster but did not feel that I had too many safe chances to pass. Might have been softer tires.

Was running top 10 until I got squirrelly in the Outer Loop. I didnt think the car would make it around the boot section, so I took the shortcut through the NASCAR version and I get a stop and go for cutting the track. After 2 mins of repairs and the stop and go, I was so far back in the field it wasnt funny. Or fun. Trying to hard to make up positions just made things worse. Grats to Conor. 22s in qual, you cut the chicane???

I qualified poorly after hitting a bump rejoining the short circuit and slid into the wall. Wrecked my tyres and any hope of hitting a 1:24. Not that it would have mattered with Alien boy over there doing a 1:22!! LOL!

Race was short and sweet, was all over Andre for the first lap and when I made a move on him into the chicane I lost it on a bump (again) and stuffed it into the outside wall. Both wings gone and suspension knackered. At 2:44am I wasn't prepared to limp around for the rest of the race so I called it a day.

All in all, I think I was simply too tired by the end of practice and went down hill from there. I've got so much work to do on my setup!

had agreat race! boned my qual lap by spinning out and losing rear wing. started 19th but was confident in my setup and made it to 3rd where i finished.

Great Thanks to Jon Weal for the setup help. if not for that i would not hve had such a good race.

Dumb and dumber! I checked the time of the race and it said 10 PM, that seemed odd, but OK. Then when I tried to join it was too late.

I had noticed the Daylight Saving time change notice, but hadn't noticed that it reset my Race2Play time so it read wrong.

A senior moment is my only excuse.
