Japan Rally

Grats David on a well-deserved win, and Carl on 2nd.
I had a reasonable rally but struggled on the faster sections throughout. I wasn't expecting a podium but there was a lower turn-out this week so I kept 3rd.
Not looking forward to Finland, I just see a white blanket in front of me and I have very little idea where the road is going. I think I might just turn up and race on the day for that one, especially if I don't have my gaming PC back from repair by then.

This return to gravel was not as I expected after France's tarmac. Not many crashes, but I was driving sooo slowly to avoid them that it paid in my stage times.

I've been practising on the Finland snow and it seems to fit my (poor) skills a bit better than this one, so I'll take the last chance as I don't think I'll be taking this event when it becomes official.

Wow, I'm happy with 7th position, with this being my second rally, but I practiced for this one.
I did really well on Noiker, Perka Menoko and Tanner II. Sipirkakim was just annoying, I rolled twice and had to call for help once. On Tanner I somehow managed to land on my roof at the "twisty" section and had to call for help and on Noiker II I had a false start!
So I'm surprised I even got in the top ten!

I had a relatively clean run. The only real mishap was on Pirka, when I entered a corner too quickly so decided to drive around the outside of a tree that was there. I lost 6-7 seconds getting back on the road and up to speed, but the car was fine and I could drive at normal pace.

I took the rest of the rally fairly conservatively, trying to drive fast but not overly aggressive, especially on the high speed sections. Too easy to hit those bumps wrong and end up airborne ;)

I need to stop doing these past midnight only a few hours before the times are due :p My mind can't keep up at those hours. I did the 5th stage first, I needed 2 assists. 6th stage, I tossed the car off and needed an assist right at the start, but I flew through the rest of the stage. The first stage I did fairly well, but the 3rd sector was sloppy. 2nd stage didn't go well, I lost focus and struggled through. 3rd stage I did fairly well, but it was still sloppy. I had Ryan Ansoon with me for 3rd and 4th stages, so he was motivation (or at least a target to keep up with/beat) The 4th stage was by far the worst stage I have ever done in this game. I'm really happy to be in the top 10 after the rough drives I had.

Well an improvement in that I actually beat a few guys, but still some silly errors I need to cut out.

Good fun Rally though, look forward to working on this sim more.

Well this is a really late Post, but better late then never i guess. Just for the heck of discovering what the default setup was capable of, i have been running all the rallys in that mode. i took into consideration that they were exhibition. once we start the season, guess i will try playing around with the setup's to get better times. as for the next Rally, ice an snow are softer, well snow is anyway,thus less damage when the car gets a mind of it's own an does something sillyy....lol
