GTPC: Phillip Island

Qualifying:
Got 2nd on the grid, with mediocre lap at best.

Race:
Was plan on running it till Friday, but my plans changed suddenly, hence I doubted I will be able to run it. However, got an offer I can not refuse 1 h prior to event, and decided to join in. With limited practice I got I was running decent, keeping Borut at 2 seconds ahead, in a second place on a 1 stop strategy.

In lap 12, I think, I passed some traffic (nGT) entering "T9" and got just tiny bit too wide on the exit, rear right caught grass and that was immediate spin. Lost 20 seconds there. That was fun. Few laps later thought that nGT driver was letting me by, when he wasn't, pushed him wide (sorry) and decided to call it a day. That was enough for me.

Sorry to whomever I impeded, both in race and in qualifying.

WTF ??? Game said "20 laps" and it ended for me after 20 laps, timer and all. I saw others racing ahead, their laptimes running while mine was absent. Not a disco, like the server would be set to 93 minutes or 20 laps. Never saw this before.

Tom, you downloaded the track from Charles link instead of using your existing Phillip Island track from V8 Supercars mod?

For a moment I had slim chances for third but then lost contact to Johnny when a fellow racer lap down decided he wants to race me. Fine. A bit later I'm punted out by Saleen in T-last and lost a place there to Mr Galloway during my excursion. In the race some GTs lapping were OK, some not because of Move-I'm-Coming-Thru-I'm-GT-mentality. Get your act together as this starts to remind me of Simbin Lobby.

Qualified 2nd here also.

For some reason, I ran out of fuel with only 20 minutes into the race :( Pitted, changed tires and ran for about an hour without pits. Last few laps, I miscalulated my fuel. It's funny how you can have a great running car and still screw up a race. Live and learn, thats what my dog always says.

Tom, you should have kept on going.

When i come to pit i didn't see my pit crew and i push the button again it's nothing happend and i vait some time but i have only 0.2 liters left so the race was finished for me.
Better luck in next race i hope.

I had a blast, but approx. 16 times each lap, I was reminded that the strategy of running hards conservatively and pit only for fuel was just not a good idea (I had no chance of touching the top guys lap times)... I ended race with tires so worn I expected them to blow at any time.

Congrats to Paul Devine for the divinely played season so far, in the lead on points without having to worry about driving restricted car next event... nice job!

My first R2P win & it couldn't have gone any better.Had a reasonable qualifying considering the opposition & started 5th.On the green was able to manage 4th by the second corner as someone ahead went wide then managed 3rd a couple laps later as another went off.Continued in this position for some laps then another went off & was up to second for a period then all a sudden found myself in 1st position by mid race & was determined not to blow it.From then on just put in consistent laps but must admit I was a bit worried as I thought I had the wrong strategy as I was to far ahead but turns out it was the right one--a rarity for me.
Must thank Tom Rue for his help through the week & congrats to all others who claimed a podium & all finishers.

Todays race was a blast and have never had a close race like I had today with Paul in his C5-R (all I could hear was his vette motor humming along). You could throw a blanket over us for basically the entire race. I don't think I could have gotten past, but Paul made a little error and gave me a little breathing room for the last few laps. A lot of fun for sure. 4th place is my best finish driving a GT car.

Thanks for all the nGT guys, i think the passings worked very well!

The true is that i just arrived home 1 hour before the qual as i hadn't driven on this track for a year. So 2nd place is more than fantastic for me :))

I saw many crashes during the race but i could avoid all of them. So i was even quite luckey, but this is how an endurance race is going...
I liked this track, it was a joyride for me :)

I've just joined to my new team, the Critical Mach, and i'm very happy that i could collect some points for the team championship.

I'm not sure that i will able to race on all the GTPC events, but i'll try as much as possible,
so hopefully see you at the next race!!
