Mills Challenge

Anyone wishing to argue or question a race Steward while a race is in progress should review this policy. Chat during the race session is distracting and disrespectful to the others on the track.

All drive-through penalties issued were issued for violations of this policy, specifically in the chicane.

I must apologise to Martin Buchan for a poor pass attempt on lap 4.

I woke up at 8:10 this morning, thinking.... "is there something I'm forgetting...??" Ack!! Touring Car Race!!

I quickly joined, threw in the Toban set, and fortunately got a good qual. However, my start was poor and Jack got by me into T1. Halfway into the lap, I checked up to make sure I didn't hit him in the chicane, and looped myself around. Again fortunately, no real bad came from this as I spun to the inside, away from all of the traffic behind me.

The battle to get back up front was amazing!! I had some great battles with people I otherwise don't get to race with very often. Passing two people on the outside of the final corner was... well... flummoxing! hehe

I had a fairly good race but one thing I think need to be added to the rules.
If you spin and remain on track, you should stand absolutely still until incoming traffic has cleared. This time it only cost me a slight suspension damage. Next time it might end someones race.

Still... Good driving by most. Congrats to the winners :)

I'm very happy about finishing first because this race was a lottery, I saw a lot of crashed cars and had problems with some lapped cars.

I'm sorry about quali- I did read the rules thoroughly before the race, but I logged on with the wrong profile and had to exit and load the right profile. I did this and deleted the old profile just so it would not happen again. That old profile had my setup attached to it. When I hit the track to qualify, I started spinning out and could not figure it out and compounded the problem by forgetting not to hit ESC in quali sessions. It all went downhill from there.

I am sorry about that, but at least it will not happen again.

Well, I cant figure out why I like these cars so much - the brakes and the tires are simply... bad, but still driving these is fun.
LoL I overtook Tristan (I never thought its possible to see him spinning) so what else can I say about the race - I was quite slow but I'm still happy :)

A fairly forgettable race, i did no practise because... well i never really practise that much for any race. But i joined just to have a go in the cars and they certainly were fun to drive and there was some enjoyable close racing.

I qualified and was running in a decent place, about 4th or 5th i believe (it's hard to tell in this mixed grid) but my lack of practise and pace meant i lost touch with the drivers in front. I had a spin coming out of the penultimate corner whilst behind my racing buddy James which resulted in me hitting the inside wall with my front right corner. I then had to limp around the entire track to get to the pits. After a quick repair job by my team i was back out there and started to try and regain some lost time.

All was going ok until my wheel went crazy. I have a Momo logitech which all of a sudden stuck itself in to full lock and when it finally released itself there was no resistance. Except for when i would turn it at which point it was almost as if it was trying to give me FFB (i don't use FFB at all). Another thing i noticed was that only the light on the left of the wheel was now on and the one on the right wasn't as oppose to it being on before the wheel apparently breaking. After leaving the server the wheel reset itself and seemed fine. I've just had to retire from an FIS race after the wheel did the same thing, it's never done this before and now twice in one night. However in the FIS race i noticed the throttle stick open as well as the wheel locking which suggests to me it's a software issue.

Has anyone experienced the same trouble?

Quali - 10th

Had an Ok quali session, car was dialed in well to the circuit and was suprised to slot in at 10th position on the grid.

Race - 7th in class

Start was close but clean. I Dani set about softening up Tristan straight from the line and made his move into T1. Was pleasantly suprised that everyone kept pointing forward for the first lap. I Initially bogged at the begining but soon regained composure to start to push for the first half of the race. Was looking like Keith, Tristan and myself were set for a repeat of Orchard Lake GP. We began to pull away from the following bunch until at the chicane Tristan got hooked up on the kurbing resulting in a painfully slow spin that was so close to being held!(unlucky dude). Myself and Keith then began to push up to the back of the GP1 Pack. I settled up behind Keith as I know he has superior consitancy and pace through-out race distance. Things then began getting rough between him and a Hammer Group Car so i decided I would seperate them both for a lap for them to cool off. Lap 5 saw Keith re-take me into T1. Unfortunatly I was mirror watching as i knew Keith was going to run deep into the corner and in avoiding action I took to the dirt. To the latter part of the lap was the 'close encounter'. a GP1 had got all crossed up with Keith after the back straight resulting in the GP1 spinning and Keith in the grass. I was set for going cleaning round the outside when I got side swipped by another racer (Racing Incident)

I then received a message saying i had got a drive-thru penalty for cutting at the chicane which i admit i did do, however after following Keith and Tristan I was using the same lines as them and why they didnt get on god knows. I'm not fussed what happens anyway, must be hard monitoring 25 lunatics!

After my drive-thru, 2 laps later I was starting the suffer the 'Liquid Latex' tires. and after being collect by a GP1 who i was ahead of on track I lost my wing. These things with no wing and shot tires are dreadful!! So i decided that with 11 laps to go, i would come to the pits and push hard till the end after fresh rubber was inserted. I then set about pushing all the way. From my head up display I knew that Guy Moulton was 18.3 seconds ahead with 10 laps to go. After being lapped by Pablo Martinez and the 2nd and 3rd placed GP1's, I then got to business. (Sorry Pablo for nudging you. Didn't think you was going to hesitate that much) I then gained on Guy by 2 seconds each lap coming into the last 3 corners I set up a slip stream pass all the way down the back straight, and to my delight I passed him on the 2nd to last corner of the last lap!
