Euro WTC: Puebla #2

Started on pole because of my 8th finish in the first race. I kept making the same mistake going into T4 hairpin which allowed 3 different drivers through at various stages of the race. Was a shame, as the lap where I got it right turned out to be the fastest of the race... go figure.

Had a great battle with Scott early on, I had put some more toe-in into the setup to try and get round the problems I had in R1, but this seemed to wreck the front tyres and I was really struggling for grip from as early as lap 8.

Apologies for the knock I gave you Scott when you tried your luck round the outside... I didn't intend to so emphatically close the door on you; it was more a case of sliding into you!

Enjoyed the race, I hope it's an indication towards a competitive season in WTC.

No problem Jon, I must admit I was a little optimistic trying to go so fast around the outside... but I figured my options were limited and in a split second I figured "why the hell not?" :P

I had fun fighting through in a new car and eventually chasing and so nearly catching Sam. He's really coming along, its nice to see :-)

Sucks for the poor turnout though, this series may have to go back to a weekend all inclusive timeslot if attendance doesn't improve....

For some reason the game put Sam and I on the same grid spot which made the start interesting. I had some fun with Scott when he passed me and then had a good race with Jon for 3rd. I only managed to pass when he ran a little bit wide, it was nice clean racing all the way.

I had a stormy weather outside, so i had to bail out, it looks like to be in monsoon season here...

Well i've marshalled, been a named offical and competed in many events in the real world here in the UK, and its very clear that R2P is missing some of the safe guards you get as the offical on this even had an absolute mare (you should be ashaned of your self and your a disgrace). In the real would you always get an offical report and you alsways get the right to appeal. On here, no-one is polieing the police and they can get away with really poors calls. Its happed to me now on 4 separate evens and i've had enough !! one rule for one and another for the others.

Anyway, i started last as a servered a stop and go penalty in the previous race for corner cutting (which never happened). Made a quallity start and when from 10th to 5th in a lap and a bit show how quick the car was. Get yet another call from the stuard for corner cutting (which didn't happen) fine, so i'm just starting the next lap and the guy in 6th comes from way back, out breaks himself and nearly took me clean out (if i wasn't there the guy would never of made the corner). So i rejoined, car was fine with no handling problems or smoke and then told by the official to park it!!

I will be filing a complaint about this one!

Andy, your two races yesterday were pretty appauling and now you are just embarrasing yourself. You caused countless wrecks and DID cut all the way through race 1. You totally outbroke yourself at turn 1 lap 1 in Race 1 and took out Sam and Darren, you cut turn 2 on about half the laps by a good 4 feet, you punted Sam off again on about lap 5, you rejoined the track illegally a bunch of times, etc etc etc. You can't possibly blame the admins for asking you to park it, and now you have the cheek to tell them they should be ashamed? Wow....

I decided it would be a good idea to back my opinion up with fact, so here is how you're event went Andy:

Race 1: 2 punts, 6 illegal reentries, 38 cuts (!)
Race 2: 0 punts, 1 illegal reentry, 25 cuts (in only 5 laps!!!)

A grand total of 63 cuts over 18 laps, exactly 3.5 per lap. If that doesn't bag you a cutting penalty I don't know what would.

Before we get into a huge slanging match over this, It's worth pointing out that another driver found himself in a similar situation to Andy a few weeks ago - penalised for multiple cuts, accused of punting anyone he came near, etc. However, he was able to provide proof from his own replay that in fact he had not cut at all, nor hit anyone. It seems there is yet another bug in Race 07 that apparently places a driver on the server several feet away from where he actually is.
I think I related that right :)

I'm not going to say who's in the right or the wrong, because i know i've been on the wrong side of the line a fair few times, and in Race1 on the last lap (which i'm sorry about).

I have to agree with the replay, i found due to the netcode, it is quite hard to race closely in race07, especially on turns, as the cars seem to judder around a fair bit, which makes a slight contact seem alot bigger than it was.

I'd like to thank all the guys that took part, it was some great racing, and for me, Race1 just seemed like forever staying infront of Scott. Hopefully they'll be some more guys here next week.
