USA nGT: Zhuhai

Well that was nice race.

Qual sucked with the wet and lack of prep time but not a disaster starting 7th.

Made a decent start and found myself in 5th after T3, sorry Rob, didn't know for sure you were there and kinda pinched ya at T2.

Me and Heinz had a real nice battle for about 10 laps until I made a mistake and almost took myself out, losing about 2.5 seconds to Hienz. Battle with some interesting traffic but made my way back to Hienz's bumper when he pitted.

I had found a decent rhythm by then and was really liking my strategy but I was burning more fuel than I figured on and was a bit nervous about making the last lap before my pit. At that time I had a real nice 40+ second lead on Hienz. Made a beutiful pit entry and in my excitement forgot to tell the crew NOT to change tires. When fuel was completed I had 15 seconds in hand, I started the car stufted it into gear and the crew said, "Repairs being made" ARGH!

Well rejoined 11 seconds behind Heinz and was making up some time until Maciej caught me. His RSR was way too fast for me so I just waited for him to make his move and made it easy for him. My prayer was that he would catch Heinz on his old tires and maybe Heinz would be forced into a mistake.

About 5 laps after I was passed Maciej made a mistake and was sitting there in the last tight lefthander as I approached he escaped handing me 2nd. I drove my tail off trying to make up the 8 seconds I was behind but there just was not enough race left.

So I get a nice 2nd place finish due to a lot of others misfortunes but I will always take a posium no matter how I get it.

Grat to Heinz, that was a lot of fun trying to find a way past you, always a pleasure racing close with someone you can trust to keep it clean.

Interesting we finished the race with the same top 3 as the standings. Grats to Hienz and Garret on a fine season!

Kent, a well deserved championship in both categories with GTNDC.

I had a nice qualy in the wet. The car felt good so I was pleased. I fell back 2 spots at the start of the race to 7th and battled back by Gregg M to get one back by the end of lap1. I tried to hang onto the group of 5 at the front to no avail. I was heavy on fuel, so I just pushed as much as I could. Gregg M was steady behind me for most of the first stint. I made a couple of small errors in the back 2 left handers that let him get right on my bumper. We battle like that for most of the first stint. Very nice racing indeed. I got a little hot heading into the last right hander and that slowed my exit speed enough to give Gregg a shot down the insided heading into T1. We got in and I got a nudge in the door and off the track. I quickly got going, losing 2 positions but still within 2s of Gregg.

We ran 5 or 6 more laps and I found myself behind Gregg again heading into the pits. Coming to the lights, Gregg braked a lot earlier than my and I tapped him at the lights. Sorry for that, it was not intentional in the slightest. I was hoping to continue our battle in the last 1/3 of the race, but somehow Gregg came out of the pits about 17s behind me (I passed him while he was in his pit stall). I figured he took tires, but the gap never changed until the end. What happened in your pitstop Gregg?

The last 1/3 of the race was lonely at best as I saw and battled with no one. I managed 3rd because of others bad fortune.

Well nice race had a great pace for the whole race then after my pitstop i lost some time because i changed my tires . At the end i was second catching Heinz and pushing like crazy but unfortunetly the engine blew so that was it.Congratulation to the winners!!!!

Congrats to Kent and GTNDC on taking both the titles, a real mighty force to be reckoned with in the NGT class series.. well done!

This was probably the best way i could ever wave off the thoroughbred NGT series for a while, love this series to bits, and will miss it until it comes back.

Had some exciting battles all season long, taking the final and my only win of the season away from here is a good feeling.

Was suprised to get onto the front row of the race grid in the wet, im normally not that brilliant in the wet, but i had to come back into the pits to put the right Wets on after i went out with hards, but my teammate greg went out with softs, he communicated they were grippy so i came back in to get some.. nice indeed!

The race got off as expected, the RSR's power unrivaled, maciej got passed me by T1 with no problems, then i had Mark Carty throwing attempts at every corner until he made a desperate challenge up the inside to T1 and made it stick, then the race looked like it could be a really close battle between rsr and rs, but it wasnt long before the rsr's had dissapeared into the distance, and my race was with Kent.

It was a great race, Kent trying really hard to get close, making mistakes along the way, but not able to make anything stick, but putting on really good pressure all through stint 1..

When i came into pits for my stop, the tires were still really good and thought i may have put too much fuel in, but it was the right amount in the end. I had quite a bit of action around me after i came out, as i was the first to pit i think, and i thought being in the middle of it was going to hinder my chances with kent and i was going to see him exit the pits infront of me ..

Was amazed to see i passed everyone!! in the pitlane, couldn't believe my luck, but then i thought, perhaps they all took fresh boots, but that would have been insane as the first set were hardly even used for me, so i pushed hard noticing Maciej closing in like a bat out of hell... started praying for the race to end and it did a few laps shy when maciej's time dropped, unlucky dude, you were mighty fast .. woohoooo the final win of the season, grateful to kents mechanics for cocking up his stop..

Well done to my team mate gregg who helped secure a very solid 2nd in the championship coming home in 4th.. stella! stealing it from Can Am by 1 point!!! Great season racing the canam guys, solid bunch of competitors!

Terrible qualifying I pressed esc because it wasnt raining and I saw no cars on the track. Probly lag.

I knew with the bad start and having to take the F360. It wasnt going to be good. The GTC is definetly much better than the base F360, I couldnt do even half the things I could in the GTC.

I was right though this would be either the best or worst race for me, lol.

Great season over all, high quality of drivers in this series, I look forward to its return.
