Euro G2: Donington

I would hope that you all understand that Race2Play is not Simbin. Any problems or bugs related to the software itself, or your Internet connections, can not be fixed by a Race Steward. No amount of of chatting during a race (which is strictly forbidden) will fix it either.

If you are seeing "weird" things during practice and qualifying session that should be a big sign to try to fix it BEFORE the race session begins.

Damn,got the time wrong.I was actually out of bed drinking my 1st coffee and checked for the password and never gave a thought to check start time.

Quali was awful, I joined the server 20 minutes before qual to make sure I was online, then went to have a shower, came back and my router had given up on providing me with internet access! Had to reboot that which took me into qualifying before I could get back on the server, so I was invisible to everyone during my run. Obviously, I caught slower cars on my first 3 laps and by the time I got a clear one my tyres were shot.
Unfortuntaley for Brian, his start was ruined by an errant SEAT sharing his grid slot so I took the lead imediatley and pulled away. The race was mostly about keeping concentration (not easy considering the severity of my hayfever symptoms today) and threading through traffic. Managed to have a half spin out of the last corner on wrecked tyres with 2 to go which lost me 15 seconds but I had 35 in hand so no biggie. Grats to Pete on a good performance in the SEAT. Unlucky Brian, looks like this race had your number today. And also felt very sorry for the two championship contenders who had their races destroyed before they even started, better luck next time Heinz and Darren.

It could only happen to me!

Managed to get pole with a new lap record for here. I had been quicker but I was happy with the time.

During the practice sessions I had noticed Darren lagging badly. I was surprised when asked the steward allowed him to continue.

I took my pole and was waiting for the start. There was a few guys highlighting problems, but all looked well for me.

Suddenly my car was inside another car! I highlighted this and the driver escaped. Suddenly it came back again.

Come green lights the car did not move and I had nowhere to go. Suddenly we had an "accident" and we broke clear. It was Darren in the Seat.

As we did not move I'm sure a few cars behind us were caught up in this and had spins/accidents.

Come first bend I was already down to 4th and under attack. After a few laps I was back up to 2nd but Scott already had breathing space.

My car was not right. I can only assume the shunt on the grid with Darren did a little damage. I was low to mid 1.06s all day with race set up and even just prior to the race.

Never once during the race could I break the 1.06 barrier and Scott was easing away all the time.

I was sitting pretty with an easy 2nd position then with 5 minutes to go I suffered another disconnection.

It's happening all too often to me at the moment and ruining my racing.

Like Tim says before if you know you are having connection trouble, you really should do something about it.

When you know you are having serious issues yet still carry on and ruin others races it's not fair.

Grats podium, especially Scott on another fine drive.

Jusr wished things worked out a little better and you had to work for it and not left to sail away

My race started horribly as I was caught up and wrecked by the stalled/stationary car at the start. That put me well into the back of the pack and I pushed to gain ground. While pushing, I had a couple of off's that didn't help my cause.
I trashed my tires by halfway and pitted. Probably would have been a better strategy if I hadn't been caught up in the start grid pile. All in all, this is one to forget in my book.

looking at the standings, Apex predator have come away from this ok, i just got dropped 1 spot in the drivers, but that means a final race in the BMW.. ... I apologise for my caps shouting late in quali, but i started noticing some really odd things ive never come across before ... and then i was airborne as garrets pic shows for the start :(

apologies for the rant at stewards, but i was hoping there was something wrong with the server and was looking for a reboot...
cant believe it was my connection, not happened before.

I will make sure i reboot very quickly the next time i see that. Its just hard when you've been going hard all season and then this happens..

Very good race to the top 3 and all others was really clean race i think.I was top 10 off the start and had some good racing ahead of me.But then i got smacked on the bottom side in a turn and went off track and dropped 4 spots.After that my tires where gone and i pitted too soon caus eof them.With my 2nd race here i think i did ok and raced clean.

We've had issues before that have been fixed by simply re-connecting to the server, so next time anyone sees something weird the first thing you should try is reconnecting.

Well, a strange one for me, but all my fault. This was my first GTR2 race in a long time. First off on the grid I got caught looking at all the chat messages, and was thinking there would be a formation lap. So, off I go like a granny to the grocery store. Fortunately everyone was able to just blow my doors off and go by without any trouble.

Settled in at the rear of the field, picked up a few positions and pulled into the pits as planned for tires and fuel. When the crew finished I realized too late of course, that I didn't have controls set for ignition or starter, doh! So, my day was done early, and my own damn fault.
