FT: Portland

I thought that was great. First off, congratulations to Ivan for winning. And a big thank you to him also... I was having difficulty with a setup so he sent me his. I couldn't figure out how to open it so it didn't get used, but thanx anyway.

Qualified in 11th which, considering the amount of practice I put in was pretty poo. But me not being one to give up, didn't. So i ended up reaping the rewards of a fine 4th place. Mainly due to a few spins in front of me, but i found some consistancy which i couldn't find during the practices.

A spin from Brian late on put me into 3rd, my highest position in any competitive race, but over the last 4-5 laps he just kept closing back on me... Until the final lap, where he took advantage of some unwanted oversteer I had in the first chicane. Back to 4th for me, but still a very pleasing finish for me. My best result at R2P so far.

Well, not bad for me, as the qual was my first training session and the race was second. Without any practice, 6th place is my pleasure.

Also, what a strange setup for this car I have made. It was a quick modification of the default set, but I noticed something weird when I watched replay after the event. If someone can tell me why is that: I drove almost 90% of the race just on the left tyres. Right ones - on the air even during some/all left turns?!?. I must admit that I saw that LF tire was under heavy workload during the race, with some constant temperatures of 120-135 degrees.

Anyway, I finished somehow. Congratulations to the podium, Ivan espec.

started in 4th so i was pretty happy about that. ran a great couple laps and ended up in 2nd. help that position for a while and then made a mistake and spun in the grass. restarted in 4th and was able to fight my way back to 3rd. all in all my second ever podium and first in a open wheel car so im very happy with the outcome.

Terrible race for me. Only got 2 laps in qualy, my 3rd lap was 1.1 seconds up through sector 1, but in the last sector Simon was recovering to the pits and I tried to go around him as he took the racing line, but I went into the wall. Still it was good enough for 2nd.

Start was just average but I was good on the brakes and took 2nd into turn 1. Unfortunately Kris Hudson punted me and I had to let everyone pass before I could recover. Then at the end of the lap I hit someone whilst trying to pass. It was on lap 1, so technically a punt, so I took my drive through. I was effectively out of it at that point and also make a share of mistakes to keep me out of a possible podium.

Well done to Ivan, you were very fast indeed.

First of all congrats Ivan, Antonio and Brian.
I signed up for the event about an hour before the race so I had only 15-20 minutes for setting up and practicing which is usually not enough for me. I did a mediocre lap at qualy and surprisingly it send me at 5-th pos.
I almost missed the start, as I was setting the brightness of my display, and then I locked-up the rears while braking for the chicane. As a result I hit somebody (John or Kris - sorry, my bad) but fortunately it wasnt that hard as it seemed. The locking rears made me lost the lead at the last turn (lap 3) but I dont care really, because Ivan was almost on my back and sooner or later I was going to wave the white flag.
Actually I hate these cars, and dunno why I signed for this race, but I found out that I'm not so slow as I thought I'd be.

Surprised to finish 8th. No real pace, but kept out of trouble to benefit from others mistakes.
