GTR2 @ Nordschleife 24h

I'm done with linksys routers.
I qualified an acceptable time based on my own standards and on my second qualifying lap my router reset itself. Lost connection. Very depressing.

I'll just have to wait until next time. Plan to watch the race replay however. Congratulations Tristan Bayless, you were really flying out there during qualifying.

Anyone selling shirts that says "I did not survive Nordschleife"?

38 minutes into it and bam, over the rails. Couldn't get back in.

I drove really steady and consistent in all my practice sessions and in qualifying and, come race time, I drove the poorest I possibly could. I didn't drive a single good lap. I managed to damage my car on the first lap significantly causing me to have to drive easy for the rest of the race (i.e. slowly) and then halfway in I popped a tire! Popped a tire on NORD! It took me god knows how many minutes to limp through the nordschleife in second gear (any faster and I'd spin) and then a nice long pit stop to think about what I'd done). I managed to damage my car again trying to jockey back into the race as fast I could and spent the second half also with damaged steering.

All that aside, it was nice to finally get a real race in at nordschleife. Concentration is key; and Tristan demonstrated that very nicely. 6 laps of nordschleife all within no more than 1 second of the previous. Unreal. Well played, Bayless.

Next time I hope to know the track better.

Just a thought: What if we had Nord. Series --
2 races in GTR2 and 2 races in rFactor.
Each one a different car set.

that was a nice change to the start, but i still got hit after the first few turns. it was a bit choppy out there, i was nervess and being over careful and braking too early. but after i got facing forward again, i settled down and put in some solid laps, well... no 8:32s tristen! :). but man, what was i thinking, i stuck to my plan of only taking tires at the half way mark. totaly thought everyone would still end up pitting, dispite having to do the gp part TWICE! i was down in the mid teens after that:( but i was having way too much fun to be mad. i went out and ripped it as fast as i could without crashing. pick off some people on the way too:) I'm actually realy happy with coming back up to 5th. too bad more people didn't finnish but what a turn out!

I've had constant problems with mine, and have heard stories of constant problems with others' also. Could just be my specific model.

Considering its wireless, i'll have to look around. Can't afford to miss more races like this.

Nice event and a good turnout. Really enjoyed the race even if i didn't have time to do a qualifying lap , lots of action in 1st lap and many cars spinning so i got several places there for free.

Then managed to reel in the big group from 8th to 2nd (i think) and there was some nice action and close racing , had a long fight with Tom and Dennis with several position swaps but finally on the 2nd last lap i got the 2nd place secured when Tom run into troubles.

Fine racing there Tom , looks like we had completely different setups and that made the fight so interesting. You had the advantage on tight sections with high wing and i had the upper hand when we got into longer straights with my 2-4 wings :D. Great fun and a good fight.

Didn't have a really smooth race and brushed the wall once or twice on the fast 'esses' after the big drop and lost a place twice , but luckily the car took it well and damage was mostly cosmetic :) , happy for the result anyway and this event was even more fun that i was hoping for 8).
