1.2 Hours of Sebring

I ended up having no girlfriend at home on Saturday morning, which is a rare occasional, so I took the opportunity to peruse the event list for today and lo and behold, I found this. It was convenient because I have been practicing sebring in GTR2 for the GTPC race tomorrow.

I've never driven the PCC cars before, but I drive nGT RSR/RS cars in GTR2 a lot, so I assumed it would be fairly similar. I gave a half hour of practice and was able to get to competitive lap times, so I ran the race on a couple hour's notice.

It was good going in the early bits with Jon hot on my tail for quite some time. Once the Fabcars started lapping us, we got separated and I had a pretty comfortable lead. After the first round of pits, I ended up in third, I guess because I changed tires. I didn't realize tire wear would be so low, I guess you guys didn't change tires once through the race?

Anyways, I managed to crawl back up and I ended up catching jon on the long back straight. I had gobs of speed and with the draft, I was coming up fast. I got clean past him in the long sweeping right hander and then I started to turn toward the straight to the S/F and got on the gas when I realized Jon was immediately re-taking his position on the inside line! I startled and got snakey with the car. I tried to hold on to the slide for several seconds but in the end, I took Jon with me. Really sorry about that Jon, I was devastated to ruin an otherwise good clean run thus far. I stayed there an waited to let you go ahead, but you opted to pit instead, so I went on with the race and in the end I got the win, but I made tons of mistakes once it got dark because I was still regreting that accident. I am really glad you got a podium out of it, at least.

The night time driving was incredibly difficult. I've only driven dark a few times (in GTR2) and it was quite good, but in this game (at least maybe this track and/or this car) the visibility was awful! I could barely make out cars in my rear view coming up on me, and I am sure I probably seemed like I was driving like an asshole to a few people who were lapping me (I just didnt know you were even there until you pulled up alongside and your headlights made me shit my pants).

Anyways, good race everyone, that was the first race I've done with more than two classes and the first that's been a really long race simulated. Pretty neat stuff.

I would like to get a PCC series going. :)

Gaaaaaahhhhhhh, the Astound cable guy shows up at the door and has them reset my modem before ringing the door bell!! Right at the 10:00 minute mark!!

Man that was fun! Had a great race with Roberto during the 1st stint and finally past him 2 laps before his pit stop, superb close stuff Roberto, excellent driving m8. Then it started to get dark and things really did get intense, I found myself turning in and braking blindly as I couldnt see a damn thing, section 2 and 3 were particularly poorly lit. Highlight for me besides the great racing with Roberto was taking 2 porsches on the back straight, 1 of whom was passing the other, I went straight between them not having a clue where the brake point was cuz I couldnt see that far ahead, as I passed between them the tarmac kinked left and changed colour, I hit the brakes and turned in shouting "yippee kiyae MF" lol

Crap. I don't know what caused this but right before qual rFactor started to crash. I've missed qualy but managed to join the race and did few laps but eventually it crashed again...game over :( Very frustrating.

Boy do I suck in the PCC mod. I am always way slower than I am with other cars. I drive the Porsche in GTR with no porblem but not these for some reason. Anyway I was doing ok considering how much slower I was than everyone else. I was even ok at night until I missed my braking point on the back stretch (imagine that :)) anyway I hit the wall and the car was a pig after that. I limped home last car running.

So much wanted to drive this race but rF bugs, or something else crashed my rFactor everytime I joined server.

Wastely spent time practicing with Panoz GTR1 and pace 1'55. low in qual.(with med. tyres) and 1'56 in race with 2 stops strategy.

Missed chance :(

Milan, I think it was one of the drivers or few of them...perhaps a custom skin or smthg...I noticed that I get a crash only when I'm close to someone...can't say who it is cause...my rf crashes :)

Very steady pace until the lights went off...I lost my momentum in the last 15 minutes...Had a very nice battle with Brian which I do apologize as in the last 2 laps I bumped him twice because his braking points were too early for me... It reminded me of last year's fight between the "Flying Lizard" and the "Ferrari" with Melo!... ;)

That was GREAT!. Passing another Porsche and then Allen blows through. Who knocked down all the markers on the right hander in sec 2?
I came pissing in there and then WTF? where am I? Then at night in sec 3 just before the long back straight, im on the inside of the curbing and WTF? That was fun
