FT Silverstone

Not my best race. I did something that I usually pride myself on not doing...getting greedy. I was no where near as fast as the top 5 but I think I had a good chance at a top 10. But instead of being patient and racing my race, letting the ones in front of me make a mistake, I pushed a little too hard and made a couple of my own mistakes. It cost me a few spots and I believe I finished 13th.

Sometimes we take a step back before taking 2 steps forward and I guess this was my backwards step.

I thought ratings were updated instantly after a race but I don't see anything yet for this one...hmmmm?

Well, I had company over to watch the Bud Shootout and was a little distracted and very buzzed in a car that wasn`t very well prepared and it showed.

Fun race!

I started 4th, but lost a couple of spots quickly after the green lights went on and we got underway. As the field sorted itself after the first lap I was in 6th.

I *just* grazed Tom Studans' spinning car on lap 6 when I chose incorrectly between inside or outside, but it could have easily been much worse (for both of us!). In 5th now, I surrendered that position to Dmitry Lukanov less than two laps later when he recovered from an off and was clearly faster.

I settled in behind Dmitry, and a really fun three-car battle ensued when the two of us caught Mike Bennett, and we all mixed it up for a couple of laps until Mike went a bit wide on lap 11 and I went by him for 4th.

I was given a bonus position and moved up to 3rd when Race Johnson left, and finished there.

Fun race indeed. I quallied 5th and was running 5th the first few laps behind Tom Studans. I put the pressure on Tom for a few laps then exiting T1 he got hung up on the high curbs and spun. That put me 4th but at the next corner Dmitry spun off which put me into podium contention (for a little while). Things were looking good but then I noticed Dmitry and Chris closing in. I knew both were faster, but I wasn't going to make it easy :) It was fun to battle Dmitry for 3/4 of a lap or so, but after he did get by I ran wide exiting the 2nd right hander and got out on the paved runoff. I felt obligated to not contest the move Chris was making so tucked into 5th behind him. Somewhere in there Race disco'd and promoted me up to 4th.

On a side note, nice screens, but I really hate those orange and black default skins. Would anyone be interested in a R2P liveried carset for these things?

All I can say, is ugghhh! Never really got the hang of this place, simple little track, but a few tricky turns. Did get fairly comfortable lapping by race time, but the speed just wasn't there...
