Donington 170k

After being melhuished and ainscoughed early in the race it was all over. It's not even worth commenting further.

Whats that Johan? Oh I get it you wanted to be first :D

Jumped into this event last minute after getting a disco before the GTI event even started.

Grabbed an old set and did a few laps to get the feel for the car. Lower fuel and took pole pretty easily.

Race start was interesting since the last G2 car slid off track in teh final corner leading to teh start. For some reason Pat was real late behind me so I just went. Car was fantastic, getting faster with each passing lap. Petty uneventfull race for me. Had a 25+ second lead when I pitted.

Only lost 2 positions in the pit exchange and after all stops found myself running 7th overall but still a couple GT2 cars catching back up. My lead was 1:10 and I had thoughts of lapping the G3 field until I got to 5 seconds behind 2nd place and my crew informed me I was short on fuel. Basically cruised around the next 2 laps and then parked it on S/F waiting for the G2 leader to pass.

Grats to Scott and all the finishers.

Awesome race in G3 guys (except for Kent & Pat who didn't want to mix it up with the rest of us!!? :)hehe) Had great dices with Simon early on and David in the later stint. One spin kept me from catching up to Pat, but that's the way it goes.:( I love this circuit and the GT3 Cup cars! See ya next race, Chow!

Thank you for helping me to the back of the G3 after missing qualifying.

I was doing ok until I hit Chris Melton (I think) in the viper. Sorry Chris it was a dumb move, I tried to brake to let you back by but, I was to late. Seems like a trend for me today.

I wasn't prepared for the 2x setting and picked hard tires. My setup didn't like it at all. I did have a blast though.

No, Klint. What I wanted to do was to race my race without being put to gravel twice and losing about 90 seconds total and driving a busted car. That's what I wanted to do.

don't worry a G2 car virtually pushed me off while going down the craner curbs and i smashed into a wall.

Sorry Johan, I feel your pain :(

Oh man... What a ... piece of s**t... Got CTD on qual... Come back, didnt make a good lap, was 11th.

Still i knew i had the pace to get the win... i was fast in early laps, but hit Borut in one of turns, so i waited for him, sry...

Still i could get back into action, but then... The picture froze,... and i was in same place for around 1 minute, while everyone else was racing. I was so mad, once i got the controls back, started putting fastest laps in... Podium was lost already there since i was 75sec behind Tolga at that point. And then, after all the great laps, i come into pit, and porsche just turned in my pit space.... So... i go slowly threough the pitlane, loosing another 30sec and beeing a lap down. Dead last of G2s again, with 28mins to go... Frustratiiiiiiing!!

I fought back to 4th place, needed 5-10more mins, and i could be on podium....

Traffic was good to me, sry for one Viper i hit while getting out of the 180° righthander and sry to Borut for that hit. (mas pir u dobrem:)

Klint, you have no idea. :) I was attending platoon sergeant course today and requested the major to leave early for unspecified personal reasons read: to drive home in time to race. Not exactly worth it, eh. But enough of this.

Grats winners and common people!

Wow, big win for me today. First one in a long time, first one with Scuderia Internazionale, first one with the new wheel, and first one while using manual clutch and heel-toeing.

First part of the race, I was getting hounded pretty heavily by Mark, but it looked like his set started to lose grip pretty badly as the tires started to wear.

At that point I was able to set off in chase of Tolga, and I have to say got some pretty fortunate runs through traffic. It seemed that I kept hitting traffic either going onto the back straight, down by Melbourne, or when the traffic had a chance to courteously let me by. Either way, I found myself only six or seven seconds back of Tolga after the first stint.

To my surprise, after all the stops were over I found myself a good 17-18 seconds behind Tolga. I realized this meant he hadn't taken tires, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to close the gap with traffic. Fortunately, things broke right again, and I was able to get to Tolga's back bumper with about four or five laps remaining. I could see he was struggling with the tires so it was just a matter of waiting it out.

My hand was forced going into the first corner as Tolga defended inside I had to go out, and found myself with a nose ahead coming out of the corner. Having some life left in my tires meant closing the deal from there was pretty straightforward.

Anyways, fun race - and finally a win!
