Euro WTC: Vara #2

Very strange experience this time, everything was going fine and I'd moved up to 5th, even managing a nice clean pass. Then Scott and someone else disco'd and I was showing as 3rd and right behind Pete, I gave him a shunt when he hit the barrier in front of me at one point, sorry Pete, nothing I could do there. Then I had alot of lag and suddenly I was showing as 10th, I got shunted twice by cars which I don't think could see me, and as it shows in the screenshot I appeared inside Lokman's car at one point. Then when I finished my next lap I was showing 5th again, I was sure I was going to get disco'd too. Luckily I didn't and made it to the end in 5th.
Grats to the podiums for both races.

Did anyone else suffer any lag problems during either race? I'm wondering if I have some settings wrong or something.

Hey I can relate to that!! Exactly what happened to me in the USA WTC 87 event at Vara.

I thought Tim had removed all the skins from the server and told everyone else to remove their skins from their local drive?

Or is this yet another type of problem?

Haven't discoed in months, not sure why I would today. Sucks when it happens from a hard fought lead. Oh well, at least my championship lead is intact. Maybe one day I'll get some luck in race 2....

My first disco in Race 07 I think. Shame, because I was fighting for the podium finish. Oh well, on to the next race. C U then.

My first disco in months in this race as well. Sometimes it's good to be on pole, this is one time when it is not. I held off Sam as long as possible (1-1/2 laps) before he got me down the long straight. Entering the second, tight right hander after the straight, he went flying. Apparently this was from me and I apologize for that. From my view, we were nowherer near each other, probably the beginning of my disco. Got going after a touch by Scott (racing incident - no problem) and disco'd at the end of the front straight. End of day.

I had some strange jumps in the game as well, once the driver in front hit the wall and the next half a second he was in my car which didn't help the cause of the disastrous race 1. I was pretty much minding my business in the 1st tight right hander on lap 1, running the outside line, when somebody tumbled into me. In panic I then shifted down too far and got reverse, hopefully didn't shunt anyone in the process. The rest of the race was no fun driving without a front bumper and bent steering.

The second race went better, helped by the quick starting BMW and a few discos, I ended up in 5th. Strange to have suddenly gone from 5th to 12th to inside Darren's car and back again, and the disco sign didn't light up either. Hmmm. But at least I brought it home this time.

Having only just purchased this game the day before on steam, and it only finished download 50 minutes before the actual practice session of race 1, and never having seen the race trace on any other sim before, i was quite happy that i didn't qualify last! Just using the standard setup stuck the car 17th on the grid, made a great start and got up to 14th, then a BMW completly out broke hisself on the 2nd lap from way back and punted me off :-(. With a damaged car came back and finished 14th. Race two was much of the same story, started 14th on the grid, got to 8th and again a BWM clipped me (damn BMW drivers there all the same) and i spun. Forght back to finish 9th - This being the very 1st races i've ever had on RACE i'd consider it a good result!
