G2/nGT fun-run

Qualy'd on pole. I had a bit more in her but that was the fastest lap I'd ever turned in the Bi-T.

Race: Ummphh. I forgot that the pole sitter can't see the lights (me). I didn't even get a bad start, it was horrible. I found myself well back at T1, but a few folks decided to dance in the dirt and minimized my fubar. By the end of lap 2, I was in 2nd closing in on Barry for 1st. This is where the race became fantastic. Barry and I were perfectly matched in separate cars. Try as I might, I could not get around him. I pushed him really hard in the middle portion of the track, but he could get a much better run out of the last 180 and had me down the straight. I finally got around him after about 25mins of nose-to-tail stuff when he bobbled in the second left hander. I pulled away a bit before pit stops.
I figured Barry would be on the same rubber. I chose new rubber and headed out in 5th. I worked through some horrendous traffic (a lot, not bad driving) to try and catch Barry in the lead. I chisled an 18s lead down to .2 by the last lap. I knew my only shot was in the middle portion of the track and I just couldn't pull it off. Fantastic racing Barry! I enjoyed the heck out of that one!

Congrats to the nGT winner as well!

That was a very enjoyable run. My first stint was nearly flawless until my fuel got a bit too low and the porka just got overall squirley. I'm not used to running it on under 5 or 6 gallons with worn rears. A lesson for pits in my next run.

Had a spin just before i pitted the first time and lost vluable time. Started to gain ground again in my second stint but and regained a few positions, but could not close the gap on Kent once there were about 10 minutes left.

Sorry about that tap in The first lap with the BMer. Don't know who it was, but you really closed in on me in that turn.

Awesome race! Qualified 7th with .800 slower time than usual due to traffic but got a fantastic start and was 2nd by the first lap. Then I gradually dropped down until I was in 5th and it was time for my pit stop. It all went smooth until I had to restart the car. It kept turning on but would die. Came out of pits 12th and that's when things got fun. Worked my way up to 7th in the end. Had a great battle with Andrew Carson that lasted for many many laps. Then on the last lap I caught up to Kent Welker. Sorry for that tap. It looked like you slid a bit going into that turn and was just a bit too close. Great race! Looking forward to the season!

That was a great race. Estoril is a rythm track and I'm a white boy. Just can't get a handle on this track. Practiced with 1:40's but couldn't get better than the 1:42's for the race. Good job Barry & Jeff. Congrats.

Yeah this was a really fun race, I went with the Ferrari to be a bit different and wound up screwing myself over with my pit strategy. I went too long on the hards and couldn't make up the time on mediums, and I put WAY to much fuel in at the pistop and lost a ton of time. I probably could have challenged Jeff had I put in the right amount of fuel...but, hey, that's racing.

Congrats CanAm for an amazing overall race; Barry, Garret, and Dennis (sorry about that start, Dennis :[ ) on the podiums in G2.

That was my first race tonight, and it was intense!
First off, sorry for the rookie mistakes on my part.
I hope I wasn't coming off like an ass.
I practiced alot for this race, and I thought I was runing fast in practice.....but when that green light came on, I soon realized how much I still had to learn. and for the most rookie mistake of all, I went into the pits as soon as the time ran out. Thinking the race was over I went out to the monitor, and everyone was still fying around....DNF:(
I'll try to keep it together at bermingham. anyway, thanks for the race!

Fun race, I can't wait for the next round so I can get a better start. Those standing starts are brutal in the first few turns. Also, why the short qualifying round? I thought we would have 15, which even still is too little to cut a lap without having to slow down for all that traffic. Has anyone ever discussed a setup where there could be maybe two or three qualifying periods of 10 or even five minutes and each group would be a third (or half) of the pack. This would let the cars go out with a bit more space and put in a couple of fast laps which is better than a handful of impeded laps, I would think.

That said, it was fun, thanks for running it guys. I think I am going to have to upgrade my membership.

That turned out to be a blast! I wanted to sign up for ngt but there were only 2 signed up so went ahead and ran the Beemer.

Q'd off pole without a good run at it but was content with that posistion. Had a great start, or maybe everyone else had a bad one but it sure felt good!.

The race...what can I say but it was AWESOME! Once Garret caught up to me, just a few laps after the start, he stuck to my rear big time. We were pretty even overall but I was railing him onto the front strait but he would make it up going into turn 1 where I was hitting the brakes when I saw the pearly gates but Garret was waiting until he saw God before he hit his. I finally made a weeble and went off track a few laps before pit time. I had planned on taking tires but this changed with my off. Came out of the pits with no new rubber and went into conserve mode. I was watching the gap close lap by lap and knew it would be close and close it was...a mere 2/10s at the finish line and believe me we were driving our asses off!

I need to apoligize to John Crosby. I tapped him twice getting around him and I do believe me and Garret scared the Bejusus out of him on the last lap....Sorry guy!

Congrats Jeff on your ngt win and the rest of the podiums.

I joined just as qualy went green not even turning 2 full laps in 3-weeks in GTR2 so sitting 5th on the grid was satisfying. The green went and mayhem ensued into T1, T2 and T3 with may cars getting sideways,making sand castles and such, I clipped a spinner in T3 but all seemed okay on my car, I kept chipping away at the cars in front and finally caught up to Tom, I chased him pretty hard and a bobble on his part allowed me thru. My pit stratagy was pretty much straight forward and pitted on lap 18 for the full boat, I knew my out laps needed to be perfect as he was going to be turning fast laps on a light fuel load, I took care of the 2 consistent out laps and passed Tom as he was pitting making the plan work to take the checkered flag.

Grats To Barry and the rest of the podium in both classes.

it was a great race really,
my first run here at Race2Play and i was very happy with the result, ending up in 9th.
I qualified 6th, and gained 3 places at the start, but then i was spun around by several cars around turn 1 and two, sending me back to 10th. I fought to gain 8th, and spun letting a white porsche by, stuck in 9th for quite some time.

I had a good run with Kristion Mardosas for a couple laps, very clean racing, was happy to let him by when he finally out-broke me going into a right hand bend.

Pit stop went well, but I can't figure out for the love of the sport, as to why the tire changers aren't allowed to change tires WHILE refueling. Ah well,

Very well done overall, I'll have to jump into some more of these runs.
