Historic Imola GTC-76

well hell. i swear that was the most treacherous car setup i have ever driven. i could not get my brakes right. coming down that long hill into the sand turn, i would go bouncy bump into the sand every time i hit the brakes.

the weird thing is, yesterday when i was testing, it handled perfect.

i think my controller is going weird again.

good run to everyone else, i tried to stay out of the way :)

But for my first real race with gtl I'm happy I was having a consistent (eheh slow) race (see replay :) ).
Pity I totally lack of experience online with it......it's the real-man sim IMHO, but compared to rF i feel lost because of lack of informations and "numbers"!

Nice race, but mostly because I just love driving the Alpina! Beautiful car to drive... shame it's slow and ugly :P

I didn't have a faultless race by any stretch... but I never could have challenged the two Panteras, so I'll take the 3rd with a big smile! :D

906 felt quite OK at Imola after weeks testing. Tried to catch Milan for the last 10 laps or so but we had same pace.

I had a lot of trouble to focus on the race itself because of Carty-incident in qualifying. LOL

Nice one, mate.

Got knocked off at the chicane lap1, so decided to pit straight away so I would have open track for most of the race. Made the first half pretty boring but the tactic worked.

I was up to 6th after everybody had pitted but made a mistake going down the big hill and lost 2 places. I was catching Gary again towards the end but forgot that we'd been lapped so didn't have enough time to do anything about 7th.

Congrats podium, good race.

I'm the 500th winner? Am I really? Am I? Ha? Ha? Where's my medal?

It was terrible, just terrible, over 1.6 s slower than my S3 pole, I was slow today. Qualified 2nd.

Race:
Race started excellent, I menged to get better start than Joco and took 1st spot. Then he made mistake going into Piratella nad Pete overtook him, that was crucial moment of the race! From thne on I gained 16.5 s, which was all I needed. I was lucky today, and made fewer mistakes than Joco.

In the last 3 laps I really feathered the car, just wanted to get her home safe.

Actually I'm surprised to have won it, as again I didn't practice, didn't have time. Took me 1:03:51.164 to complete 30 laps in S4 while in S3 I did it in 1:03:36.545 even though I had 2 sec slower pit stop, so on the average I was 0.5s/lap slower in S4 than in S3, and it should've been the opposite. I won't allow myself anymore to race without practice.

I made silly little mistake when I overtook Michaels, you must've thought what a fool. :P

Qualified 1st and aimed on winning the race, but than I ran a little wide in the 1st lap and Pete took me with that Vette. He was alot faster on the straights and pretty much slower on the turns. I had a feeling like his car is wider than longer. I was attempting to overtake him but nothing. At Acqe Minerali Pete was breaking very early and so I ended up with brakes flat in the middle of the turn, which made me do a twist. I almost spun off but magically I correted the direction in the middle of spinning by turning the wheel just a bit, and it worked LoL.

In about half a lap I was again just behind Pete. I still coudn't overtake him and was losing about 1 second per lap :S Finnaly after laps I tried to do an attempt to overtake him, but he left no room for me and I bumped him just a little but he still spun in that crazy Vette, so waiting for him to overtake me took me another 10 sec. Finnaly(!!) he made a mistake and I took the chance! It was hell of a risky though.

Pitted 2nd and got back to track when I was 3rd :S Scott later made a mistake and ran off the track so I gained a position. In the next lap I ran off too, but I overtook Scott again.

The conditions became insane in the last 3 laps(Greger Huttu's setup :D), but I still finished only 3 seconds behind Enis.

Darn, if I didn't lose all that time behind Pete's Vette I might have won this race... Glad to finish 2nd anyway.

Missed the qual, started last and was gaining places, but around lap10 I hit those stone tires at last chicane, and ruined the car a lot. Got S&G later for speeding in pits (I forgot that only in GTR2 pit limiter is on by default after pit stop), so at the end my 10th place is OK for me.

I'm not feeling too bad about my finishing position. I hadn't turned a single lap until this morning. I just went with a roll of the dice and picked the RSR, and an untried setup Tim has posted for a totally different track even! I took some fuel off for qual, which got me to the top 10. I am getting so old that I had forgotten to put my race fuel settings and there was 10 secs left to get on the grid. So as soon as the race started, I made a decision to duck right in on lap 1 and fill up. When I got to my pitstall I was trying so fast to get what I wanted for fuel I hit enter without setting it to no tires DOH! And the last chicane has a few donuts on it from me as well, the wrong trajectory and she would come around hard. Happened so many times I'm surprised I wasn't asked to park it by the stewards. So this finish is fine by me!
